rooting question on perp grow--need advice

Hey all,

I've just done my first blueberry harvest--lots of fun. Now I'm looking to move my clones(about 2 feet tall) from the five inch pots that they vegged in to my 4 gal pots to finish vegging and then to flower.

My question is concerning two clones that i put straight into flower with my original grow to see what would happen. they flowered and produced and produced a smaller yield as expected. However when I emptied the 4 gal pots they were in I saw that their roots had hardly grown at all. They made very little use of the larger pot.

Will my transplanted clones make better use of the new space if I give them some veg time (unlike the other 2) and/or is there a technique to get the to fully utilize the larger pot for roots?

thanks for any input

Yes I would trans plant them into larger pots them leave them to veg for another week just to make sure they are ok after transplanting.

thanks intenseneal,

I repotted today and set on veg

anyone use uncle bens "scoring the rot ball on 4 sides and bottom. this might be what I should have done?

i don't cut my roots unless they're VERY dense at transplant
at the same time, UB knows WAYYYYYY more than either of us rofl

try watering with super thrive(1.5-2 ml/gallon) when you uppot and for the initial 2 weeks of flower
i put rooted clones into cups (8-16 oz) for a weekish
then to 1 gallon pot for the duration
when i go to flower, they go to anywhere from 2 - 5 gallon pots depending on strain and directly into flower
i use super thrive until i see what i call, "tangling," at the bud sites
