I am having some Ph issues and I was hoping you could please clarify a few things. In some posts you have stated that a PH of 6.5 is optimal and in others you have said that 6.0 is desired. I first tried RO distilled water from a store but when I recieved my PH pen in the mail it told me a very different story than my ph strips. The Pen SH sent me did not come with calibration solution even though the one I paid for in the PIC showed that it did so I have no way of knowing if the pen is even accurate. Regardless, being the obsessed perfectionist that I am, I went with the measurement from the pen pen and I am afraid my plants may now die because of it. Tonight I flushed with tap water which ph'd out of the faucet at 7.0. I added a full pack of micro and 1/4 of grow nutes. I then I had to had a half a teaspoon and then half of a quarter teaspoon of ph down to get it to finally stabilize and stay at 5.8. I am at a loss what to do when I have to add my next 1/4 nutes because it was already so hard to get it to 5.8 and I now they will throw it off. Please help by clarifying what the water should be before nutes and after nutes. Also what is the prime range, 5.5, 5.75, 5.8, 6.0, 6.5...help!!!!! Thanks so much in advance. Also sorry if this post looks crazy format wise for some reason the smile bar wont go away and I have like 2 inches of window to type in. Also my roots are like a brownish looking but he water looks clean still. Did my ph endeavors cause root rot or do you tink this is the nutes causing the color? Thanks so much, it is greatly appreciated.
