Hi Everyone,
Maine-based rookie here. I am currently on my second ever grow. First one was productive but not without its touch-and-go moments. I started with 4 clones, lost one to it being a hermie and had one that never seemed to get going. I ended up with 2 ladies that produced 126g. The strains were Candyland and what was labeled Cat Piss.
Here is some of the Candyland:
This time around I have 8 plants in flower, all from clone and in nectar #4 soil, nothing else added aside from Extreme Mycos when I transplanted. They are all in 3-gallon smart pots. Here are the clones I got:
Im not sure about some of the names as I couldn't quite make out all of them
For lighting I am using 4 LED's, all purchased from amazon. I have a visparspectra 600, king 1000, marshydro 300 and meizhi 300.
The tent these are in is a 4'x8' amazon, not sure of the brand. There is a dehumidifier in the tent along with a couple fans. I use some lengths of stove pipe and small circulation fans to bring air into the tent. The temp has not been over 79 according to my thermometer. Humidity stays pretty stable in the 40's.
For nutrients I decided to try the Nectar line. The shop I go to really likes this stuff and they have treated me really well so I followed their advice. I was also able to get a sample kit from one of their reps and from there I have picked up a bottle or two a week to round of the full line. The only thing I didnt do was the Bloom Khaos because I missed my window to foliar feed. Sounds like I can use it towards the end of flower though. It was a definite learning curve going from 3 bottles of Fox Farm to this line. When I started it seemed to take me hours to measure everything out and PH it. Ive slowly gotten better at it. It helped that I build an 8 ft table that I use to lay everything out on when I'm mixing, it helps me stay organized and I make less of a mess. I am varying my strength from 1/3 to 1/2 strength. I was going heavier at first but I was starting to see some signs of stress/burn. I did water a couple times with herculean harvest which seemed to help right the ship. The only other thing I have added is photosynthesis plus mixed in with waterings and a few days ago I put in mammoth P.
Three of the plants- 88 / G13, Blueberry Headband and Girl Scout have sort of always been scraggly and never got going very well. The rest are doing well. I topped everything but the 3 scrubs twice and took the two tallest plants to do some LSTing to. I tied up some rope and have been trying to train the plant into a flatter more spread out canopy. The other ones I tied up some of the branches early on before I topped the second time and have since untied. They are much bushier and really rugged plants.
Everything below is day 20 into flower.
The 2 plants that I did the LSTing to, ICE strain on top:
