rubbermaid grow

i got a quick question about rubbermaid grows. when using on do you always have to use 2 rubbermaids and stack them (is there any reason that you do stack them?) or can i use one the same size as if i would stack them?

no im talking about soil based grows. i seen on the internet that ppl who were growing in rubbermaids stack 2 together, like this:First Grow/Stealth Rubbermaid Grow Box (Pics Included) - Grasscity.com Forums

that's so they can grow up in height. he basically cut a hole in the bottom one the exact size of the upper rubbermaid. It's for stealth reasons. It makes it look like they are just containers sitting there. If you were talking hydro, some people do a flood and drain technique where there is an upper and lower resevoir.

That looks like DWC or a bubbler on the bottom and the top is a grow box/lid combo.
You can tell by the glow the bottom is full of liquid.

My bad...I looked again and saw the big hole in the middle...Big grow box and not hydro.

I'd use 2 in either case, here's why.

I am using water and the Sides bend out a lot from the water weight so 2 with a lid is strong enough to hold it's shape.

With soil you want drainage. You will need holes in the top one and some rocks or other material in the top one. Also will want a drainage line on the bottom one. al things you can do yourself.
