Whats up everybody Im totally new to this site and this is my first attempt ever at growing cannabis although I have done a significant amount of research on it.
I just moved here and I cant find any real pot connections. I hate having to go through a dealer they are really unreliable its frikin annoying anyway... I figured Id grow a couple small plants, get enough bud to last me awhile, and maybe sell a few g's here and there for some extra cash.
This has to be VERY stealthy.
Im in the process of building my grow chamber (while waiting for seeds to arrive) My cameras broken so when i get a new one ill take some pictures
but for now the drawings will have to suffice.
The whole thing is taking place in a Rubbermaid container turned so that it becomes as tall as possible. Im growing lowrider and I read that they reach a mature height of under 3 feet so the container should accommodate at least 1 or 2 plants.
Rough dimensions are 3x1.5x1.5 feet.
6.75 cubic feet. The grey strip on the cover is a hinge where the lid folds back to reveal the grow chamber. It is painted bright white on the inside.
I wanted to incorporate an exhaust system that would not stick way out for someone to see, So i cut a round hole just big enough for a plastic shower drain to fit through which will serve as the exhaust port/carbon scrubber. This will lead back through a curved airflow tunnel and 12V case fan I salvaged from an old computer.
The case fans stats are
Rotation speed: 2000RPM
Acoustical noise: 25 dB(A)
Airflow: 32.11CFM
I figure 32CFM is enough given the size of the chamber and will be sufficient to push the air through the activated carbon in the shower drain.
There will also be another 120mm case fan on the back of the chamber for cooling/circulation.
I m planning on using a single CFL light (6500K at 30W/ft^3 so 210W for vegging and 2700k at 210W for flowering)
Which will be hooked up to a timer along with the cooling case fan. The exhaust will run at all times.
Do you guys think this will work?
My main concerns are: will only 1 CFL light be sufficient? if not I will have to figure out some way to rig up a reflective ballast for multiple bulbs...
How much noise will the exhaust fan produce? its supposed to be around 30dB but I want this thing to be so silent and not smelly you cant even tell its there.
What kind of intake should I use? How large of a hole should I make for a passive intake? (Or do i even need an intake) I was thinking of making some CO2 reactors out of water-bottles(water sugar yeast) and I read that if you let them sit in there without an intake it will make the CO2 concentration really high which is generally a good thing. Should I consider an active intake? If so does the fan on the intake need to be larger or smaller than the exhaust fan?
Anyway if you have any advice let me know this my first time growing so I really want to be as prepared as possible so things run smoothly.
