Safety of 176 W through Cheapo Timer

I'm a couple weeks into my first grow. I'm going to be leaving my place for a few days and I just want to try and get some feedback on the safety of my setup.

I run 6 CFLs and a 2 florescent tubes for a total of 176 Watts. The CFLs and the tubes run through 2 extension cords into a power strip, which then runs into a cheapo timer (though it is 3 prong), one of the ones with a dial and pins you push down.

The timer is plugged into a socket by itself that normally runs the window AC, so it is likely built to supply plenty of power.

Of course, the image that troubles me is of my cheapo timer heating up, catching fire and burning down my home.

Any thoughts? Would it be paranoid to buy another timer and split the load with another power socket?

Well if you have used this timer to run your AC then im sure it can handle 175W thats really not much juice when its 120v I'd guess it at 1.4 amps. you dont want your extension cords to be exesively long as this can cause a voltage drop that can be a danger. I would not plug 2 cheap extension cords together if I were you they have shite plugs. But if they are not to thin and are 3 prongs you would be fine.

I haven't run the AC on the timer, I just mentioned the AC because that is the socket's main function, and suggests it is wired to handle a proper load.

The extension cords are long, but are heavy duty 3 prong.
