sample buds don't smell done.. any help?

hey everyone.

heres my situation.. I currently have a Ceres Skunk grow going.. and today is her first day of week #4 of budding.. well they say (at the seed bank) that this strain only takes about 40-45 days to fully mature and bud.

K I understand that she's not going to be ready (Fully ready) until the middle or end of week #6... but I figured since she's over half way through her flowering period.. I thought I would take two buds from her and test them..

my question is.. why do my buds smell ehhh I dunno how to describe the smell... its almost like it smells.. yeah I dunno. But it doesn't smell right.

It smells like leafs smell.. ya know what I mean?

Is that smell present in these two test buds because they're not ready? or.. they just haven't dried?? just wondering because I'm out of bud.. and out of methadone (prescribed methadone for a past heroin addiction) and I'm having MAJOR fucking withdraw from the Methadone and that's why I took the samples.. because smoking bud really really helps with my withdraws....


Like right now? I'm sitting her typing this.. sweating and aching like a MOFO.

anyone have any tips?

The un normal or hay smell is because the bud isnt ready or cured. Sometimes when a bud is picked early it will develop that smell. Seed banks normally say plants take alot less time then they should. All of my buds always take at least 8 weeks to fully mature.


As for the anxiety and withdraws. get get a sack and toke it up and be patient wait for your bud to finish you will be happy you did

Not only does the actual growing take patience, so does the curing. The longer the cure, the better the smell and taste.

no way i cant believe smoking bud helps with your withdrawals it normally makes the cramps a lot worse imo
not to sound patronising but well done on the heroin rattle youve done its not easy i know especially if its done in the same area youve lived and scored in for years i had to move away for 5 years to get clean i couldnt do it in oldham the town is full of it plus jam raki's puttin it thru ur door doesnt help lol keep it up coz BUD IS GOOD

Im just gonna leave it till full 9 10 weeks flowering then cut it if its ready my buds on my plant at the moment smells lemony with a hint of cheese but lacking that real ganja bud smell could anyone tell me if thats normal at this stage of flowering here is a few pics of my grow its at the end of week 5 flowering now but on the pics its 4 weeks dead on all replys/critsisms/advice welcome if you need more info just ask im feeding with bio-bloom now for flowering and was using mg in veg

i had a plant flowering and it had buds size of cherrys was 1 week into flower and while growing it smelt sugary like candy and the stems smelt like lemon than i cut one of the buds and broke it apart and it smelt so good excatly like bud i get of my friend but when i killed a male dried leaves god~!!! smelt so bad !!!!!!!!!!

Well, actually I'm a NJ native. Lived in Belmar, New Jersey all my life pretty much. That is also where I was getting my heroin at... so I came down to Arkansas to live with some friends for a year or so. BUT... now that I've been Sober (except for pot) for about 11 months.. my family is wanting me to come back home to Jersey.

Also, thanks for the support my piazon. Same to you bro.. keep doing what ya doing and stay clean.

All i have to do is.. just stay away from the people I was hanging with and socializing with and I should be fine. I also erased all my connects phone numbers from my cell phone and changed my cell number. That will help me stay away from it as well.

My girlfriend has been waiting on me in Jersey.. waiting on me to get sober. So.. having her.. someone I love with all my heart.. having that will REALLY help me stay clean and sober.

For those of you.. who MIGHT be getting into Oxycottin or Roxycodone..?!?! Don't.

It's not worth it. Trust me. Not worth it...

anyhow.. it also helps meeting other people who have had similar or the same problem with addiction.

the buds smell like that because you're essentially clipping the nutrients along with the flowers/resin. the "fresh-green-earthy-leafy/mossy" smell goes away as the resin matures, and becomes more and more potent. the nutrient content of the flowers diminishes in those last weeks of flowering, causing your plants to change smell dramatically.

my advise is to not take "preview" clippings. I've done this several times, and I understand how its very tempting to clip some buds for a quick buzz, and I do give you kudos for kicking bad habbits. As you take samples off your plant, it has to divert growth[flower] energy into repairing/healing/sealing cut wounds. this takes away from the potential yield and vigor of your plant, reducing both quality and quantity.

just escaped the opiate prison myself... i was smokin 3 or 4 40 mg oxys and snortin 3 or 4 dilaudid 4's a day just to not be sick and get a lill bit of a high goin. it was lame as fuck. once i realized it was stopping me from progressing with my music i cut myself off.. detoxed for week and a half ... shit was weeeeeaaak. not being able to sleep or shit if my life depended on it. puking from motion sickness WHILE I WAS DRIVING lol ... you are definitely right my dude. not worth it... as far as sample buds go. dont do it. be strong. BE STRONG DAMMIT! patience is a virtue...

do whatever keeps you clean bro. if that means sample then sample away...

hell hea if it takes samplin to not to be sick... sample my friend. there is no other worse feeling than being sick from ops. aspecially methadone. im in the clinic too man, i get suboxone now though. the methadone withdraws were too similar to iv heroin withdraws. so i switch over to suboxone and it doesnt make you feel good like methadone but it works ive been clean of iv drugs for tem months and some change and i was a junki man ive done state time went to prison was sick to my bones and know what its like to be sick brother. so keep it clean. but suboxone and my new found love for canabis growing and hate for hard drugs keeps me at ground level. peace from the east man

its crazy how many people on here are ex h users ive been clean for like a year and a half and i was out there bad the methadone clinic saved my life man

growing keeps me busy and gives me something to work towards also i feel you on having a girl that loves and supports you theres nuthing better than that when ur going thru that shit thats what keeps me going day to day

ive had green that kinda smelt like hay untill it was cured and then the smell came back dank but in ur situation its prob cause its not close to being ready and it prob had to do with not being dryed properly be patient and u will be rewarded stay clean man its the only way peace

yeh ur right sample buds are always shit imo probly coz i never let sample buds dry fully just like a quick dry 12 hrs with a bit of heat to speed it up

proud of all you ex opiate users i know its hard lads stay clean just smoke green take it one day at a time

im currenty fightgin the devil that is opiates now...hopefully going to get on suboxone in the coming weeks....its so fucking hard man, ruins families and lives...i can beat the physical wds but then the mental depression sets in and i cant fucking handle it and go right back and have to worry about being sick again, its a fucked cycle man i dont even try to beat it causei knw once im past the physical wd the mental sets in and im done in..............FUCK..life consuming man...life consuming
