Sannies ‘Sugar Punch’ – (‘Super Silver Haze’ X ‘The One’) 5pk

Very impressive 100% germination rate, with all seedlings developing into healthy plants. In BioBizz all mix from the start (germination using paper towel method), firstly in small cup pots. All were vegged (24/0) for 2 weeks under blue CFL, 3 were then transferred into 20 litre pots, 2 were transferred into 5 litre pots. Those in the 20 litre pots were vegged (18/6) for a further 2 weeks under 400W Metal Halide, before flipping to 12/12, the MH lamp was left in for the first 2 weeks of 12/12 to try and inhibit stretch, switched to 600W HPS on day 14 of 12/12. The two plants in the 5 litre pots are being vegged out under a 125W blue CFL each, and will be flowered when the first three have done.

The flowering girls
One is stinky, very stinky, and has been since veg. A rub of the stems and it’s straight up blueberry skunk funk. Nice open structure, looks identical to one of her sisters actually – only discernible difference being the smell. 9 blade thin sativa dominant leaves (possibly 70/30 (Sat/Ind). Put into flower at 11 inches, currently 30 inches on day 16 of 12/12. Couple of 4 inch nodes, but tightened back down to 2 inch. Stinky showed sex first (day 8 , her lookalike next (day 10). Very healthy, no signs of trouble with the fairly ‘hot’ soil, they’ve been taking BioBizz Grow and Alg Mix in veg, and Grow and Bloom since flowering, at fairly high dosage (starting at 2ml per litre, now at 5 ml per litre – of each), with no issues so far.

The other girl was more vigorous from the start. She was taller than her sisters, and had got to 14 inches in the 4 weeks from seed before I flipped them to 12/12. She stretched fairly hard at first, and was heading away from her sisters, so I used a weight attached to a pipe cleaner to bend the top down for the second week of flowering and that has levelled her off a bit. She’s still a little taller than her sisters, but at 31.5 inches the difference is under 2 inches so no problem. She looks more sativa (possibly 75/25 -Sat/Ind), and has seriously dark green thin blade leaves. She was the last to show sex, at day 12. Again, very open structure, thick stems, not much branching, but what there is is strong and well developed.

The vegging girls
There are two clear phenos amongst the other two. Both are about 14 inches after 6 weeks. One is bushy, slightly more Indica (possibly 65/35 – Sat/Ind), lighter leaves, very healthy and vigorous. The other is less bushy, although it does have lush green growth all the way up the stem, and has the darkest green leaves I’ve had on a plant yet, and heavily sativa dominant (looks about 80/20 – Sat/Ind). I’m going to transfer them to 20 litre pots at some point and then top them. They will probably be getting another 8 weeks of veg before I flower them.

Really wanted to share my positive result, and very good first impressions. These look to have more potential than the Killing Fields, and they were the best I’ve ran so far. I hope to be getting a camera sometime soon, and will update this thread with pics if and when I do. Peace. :weed:

Update - day 22 of 12/12 today and the two big girls are still stretching. Biggest one is now 44 inches (put into flower at 14 inches). Properly bent her top back with a pipe cleaner and weight today, hopefully stop her as I'm running out of head room. The shorter girl (Stinky) stopped stretching after about 16 days, and is a very workable 38 inches tall (put into flowering at 11 inches). She started resin production about the same time (day 16), so I think she will be the quick finisher out of the bunch. The second tallest has shown the start of resin production today (day 22), with the tallest and most sativa girl still waiting.

The vegging girls are super healthy, seriously dark leaves on one. They have both shown sex in veg actually - a first for me, as I usually only veg for a couple of weeks. I'm gonna transplant them into 20litre pots in a few days and top them, try and properly bush them up.

I should have a camera for my next update, should hopefully be some sexy flowers to show you by then.

Thanks for your reply, and interest! :-)

I have three flowering, two vegging. The really dark leaf girl has very thin leaves -definitely sativa (plus she stinks, even in veg).

Two of the flowering girls are sativa dominant, one is more towards the hybrid.

Both the vegging girls are sativa dominant. They will be getting another 6 weeks veg at least - I will be putting them in my flower tent when the others have finished. I hope they remain manageable to be honest. I was intending on topping them once they're in the bigger pots, then training them after that to keep the height down. I'm prepared to top them again if need be before putting them in to flower. We shall see how things develop.

The big girl is a thirsty lady. She's needing a feed every 3 days, taking 9 litres of water containing 30ml 'bio bizz grow' + 30ml 'bio bizz bloom' and 9ml of 'Bloom CALMAG'. The other girls are also happy with that strength food, but only need it every 4/5 days or so. Feed with every watering, I allow for some run off.. As a matter of interest, the vegging girls are also happy with that strength - no nute burn signs.

Still no signs of resin on the big girl. The resin on stinky does not smell as strong as the resin on her lookalike sister who did not smell as much in veg - the stronger smelling resin is heavenly, elements of bubblegum, butterscotch/caramel and floral berries, same on the other but less strong and with an added earthy element to the aroma that is equally as strong as the other (sweet) side to the smell. I will not be rubbing them again for updates on resin smell (I will resist lol) - always like to check right at the start though.

Hoping the big girl has stopped going upwards, she is currently being pulled down with weights, which seems to not bother her - nice curve developing as she fights upwards against it, I think she will stop just before 4ft though. Making me think of a bit of bondage for her vegging sisters rather than a decapitation - I'm sure I can train them right round the edge of the 20 litre pots they will be in and have crazy shrubs by the time I put them in to flower. I can't see how, in those circumstances, they will not pull at least twice as much as their sisters who only had 4 weeks veg (the vegging ones will probably get 12/14 weeks by the time I flower them). And I will of course know the 4 week veg yield by that point too. :-)

I don't have a camera at the moment. My Dad will be sending me his old one this week, will post pics as soon as it arrives.

Nice... I'm just finishing up a Killing Fields grow.. The One puts out some nice plants.
I heard about sugar punch shorts after getting my KF's going. I sort of wish I would have got Sugar Punch instead... a little late for that now though.

I grew Killing Fields this time last year. Was very impressed with it. The purple phenos were super tasty and gave a very functional creative high - perfect for summer creativity. I also got a 13 week flower green pheno that was very rushy/trippy, gave me visuals, was epic. I really like my trippy/edgy/rushy sativa's, so for me that green pheno was perfect. I hope the extra strength with the Sugar Punch means that is the norm with this strain. Certainly seems likely from reports I have read. Plus I feel my grow skills have improved since I invested in a ph pen, these girls are certainly the healthiest I've grown yet.

Little update at week 4 of 12/12 for the flowering girls, and week 8 of veg for the vegging girls.

Flowering girls - The tall hazey lady has stopped stretching at long last. Finished up at 4ft 1in after being put into 12/12 at 14 inches. She has now started producing resin, started on about day 21 of 12/12 in fact. Very mild smell to her so far, slight lemon/rotten fruit, nice but mild. The other two are looking amazing. Very much the same pheno in looks, darker green and shorter than the tall hazey lady. The one that was stinky in veg now has a muskier smell, almost earthy - the other is heavenly berry fruit and the smell of Dutch candy shops. Tons of trichs already on these two, including all over the leaves and stems. All plants still very healthy and vital - been giving them 'Bio Bizz Alg A Mix' and 'Bloom Cal/Mag' as well as the 'Bio-Bizz Grow' and 'Bio-Bizz-Bloom'. Will be reducing the dosage of 'Grow' next feed, as there are some signs of clawing on the leaves - sign of too much nitrogen. No major problems though. Still very impressed.

Vegging girls - this is my main reason for posting. Re-potted them into 20 litre pots on Wednesday, and then had my first attempt at lst yesterday on both of them. Tide string through a hole in one side of the pot, which went around the base of the plant, securing it. Then on the opposite side I threaded another piece of string which went round the top of the plant. By drawing this closed the top of the plant was lowered towards the edge of the pot. I fastened it as one would fasten a shoe lace. I managed to get the tops down to just below the foliage first try. The plant's tops were about 13 and 14 inches tall when I started, now, 24 hours later the canopy of the two plants sit at 10.5 and 11 inches. What has impressed me is the speed at which the original tops bent back round to the light. 16 hours later and the tops were right back level with the canopy, so I re-fastened them down lower, and less than four hours later they had got back level. Highly impressive. An entire side of the pot full of a level top canopy, with multiple bud sites, with plenty of time to fill the other side of the pot before flowering them.

The camera has been a bit delayed - my Dad is slack - will have it early next week though for sure. Can't wait to share these girls with you.

*correction - the tall girl is actually 53.5 inches, which I make 4ft 5.5 inches* She is a proper little Sativa tree :-)
