Sativa Dom Trichromes.

Hey guys,

Well this is my first grow and need some advice. My Kali Mist (80% Sativa) is on her 6th week of flowering and is coming along nicely but I have a question regarding thricome colour.

When you see amber trichromes on a Sativa dominant plant does that mean it's becoming more couch locked or more potent? As I've heard the longer you leave them (withn reason) the more potent they become.

Also when the ball of the trichrome is amber it's best, when the whole trichrome is amber it's degrading?

I've never seen the stem turn amber,I just want a few amber.There is a good thread I think it's harvesting & curing.It explains it pretty good.PEACE

I think it's safe to say you are meant to let some amber trichs in the mix. Sativas are a uppy/heady anyway so pulling early want be beneficial for anything I would of thought. Plus all the taste will come once its full y ripe.

My kali Mist always gets a few amber trics early on so don't pull the trigger too early. As a matter of fact, what I saw while growing out my pack to find my keeper mother, is that she really doesn't want to be in a hurry to go amber anyhow. My personal preference is to not let it get too far into amber. Amber is thc past it's prime as far as my personal likes are concerned. If I wanted couch lock, I would grow indica. Take some buds at different stages to see what you like best and trust Serious Seeds on the harvest window, It will be in the neighborhood most of the time. Mine goes around 85 days depending on how well I've taken care of the plant. Mostly cloudy with just enough extra time to amber, to ensure the bud is filled out to it's potential. keep an eye on your trics and let the plant say when. It's my first grow and I've never tried "proper bud" only smoked bag stuff that leaves me in zombie mode. I've got a different breeder (Delicious seeds) which has 80/20 ratio where Serious Seeds is 90/10. I want an energetic high as possible, so would cloudy as possible until the very first signs of amber be best to chop?

I'll upload a few pics. Boy does she smell! haha

That's basically the idea.

Your on the right track for the energetic high by going with a sativa dom.
At only 6 wks you've got a while to go yet. As stated above , grow the type of smoke for the high you want... so many people will grow sativas wanting couch lock, and vice versa.. If they want couch lock grow indica, energetic sativa.. Dont try and get and manipulate the high by early or late harvesting. Thats what the diff strains are for, pick the 1 that suits your preference and let it mature fully like its supposed to.
Not saying this is waht youre doing, but just a lot of people in general.

With sativa doms you really want all cloudy trichs with at the max 20% amber trichs.
