So i'm out looking for soil and there are two bags of pottingsoil the same size and same price:
One was Schultz potting soil that feeds for 3 months.
the other was MiracleGrow potting soil that feeds for 3 months.

What would you recommend, or does it matter?

Won't matter.

Both kinda suck.

Better of getting something that won't feed at all, and feed them yourself with either chemical nutes or organic ferts.

If I had to choose I would look at the back and see which had more nutes in them and pick that one.

I would go with Miracle Grow. I used Shultz once and had to dump the bag because it was full of fungus gnats.

I've used Schultz's Potting Soil Plus for tons of grows when I grew in soil. Here's a great mix:

2 parts Schultz's "Potting Soil Plus."
1 part Perlite.
1 part Vermiculite.
1 part Worm Castings.
Add one SMALL handful of Granulated Dolomite Lime per each two gallons of soil mix.

Use this mix, sit back and watch your plants explode!

For nutes:

Vegging: Peter's Jack's Classic All Purpose 20-20-20.
Flowering: Peter's Jack's Classic Blossom Booster 10-30-20.

Here's where to order the nutes via mail: http://www.jacksclassic.com/
