k so ive been looking into what i can use to reflect my light in my closet , mylar is way to expensive cos it only comes in 6meter rolls min where i live , and thats way to much for my needs, 2nd is tinfoil "shit" so i went to the hardware store and found some insulation gear which is alot cheaper and 97% reflective , u can get the sheets or the tape , i got a 50meter roll if the tape for 10bucks !

If thats an alluminum foil it will cause "hot spots" on the plants which is when the light hits the alluminum foil it will reflect onto the plant much like a magnifying glass to an ant. It will cause that hot spot and burn the plant, I know from personal experience..

i dont know how big your grow area is, but you can go to any outdoors type store and get emergency blankets for like 3 bucks. its like a 6X3 foot sheet. wal mart probably has them

Ebay it. Theres a few ppl on there who must have industrial sized rolls. They cut off what you need, and ship it. Wife and I ordered 44"x100' of 1 mil for $20 including shipping.

Only thing about the stuff sold as emergency blankets is its extremely thin and tears easily. I found a small strip of duct tape where the nail/screw was holding the mylar really helped stop it from tearing.

wtf your calling mylar shit ? rite on. i found a hydro store thats sells it 2bucks a metre so im good now , but i cant seem to see any difference in the alloy tape compared to the mylar looks exactly the same.

So aluminum tape, good or bad? granted i'm poor and could find nothing else for reflective material within a reasonable price range. i have my walls painted white or covered in contact paper, but as far as a reflector for CFL's how do you feel about aluminum tape
