SCROG and LST Netting Question

What type of netting do you guys recommend for SCROG/LST? I've looked online for things like deer netting but it seems to come in huge rolls and is anywhere from $75-150. I was wondering if anyone might have any links or resources on good non-rigid net i.e. nylon or plastic that would be applicable and more reasonably priced.

Also what dimension holes are best for SCROG or LST? I was thinking something like 2"x2"

you can use regular old kite string. buy some 1x1's and make a square or rectangular frame, next you can either drill holes or put some nails/screws to be used as tie off locations (i usually space mine between 2 to 2.5 inches apart) tie one end of string to a nail/screw than affix it to the screw/nail across from it. you will need to do this both vertically and horizontally. so now you should have a frame with your strings ran and tied up all nice and pretty like. next you have to decide if you're going to have your frame suspended over your plants or if your going to attach it to some legs. i like having mine mounted on the ground instead of on pulleys or hangers. just use some more 1x1's or pvc to make your "table" the screen will be mounted to. this whole set up will cost maybe 10 dollars. hope this helps.
oooh if youre doing hydro make sure to leave yourself some sort of access to your res otherwise you have to lift your scrog table every time u change the res :)

i used a stretchy cargo net from a car trunk. they are like $.99 on ebay, the holes are 2X2 and because it stretches i have used it it numerous flower examples. otherwise kite string is good too, but it will be work.
