Ok, so... meeting people on the internets can be a really good thing. I've got to give mad props to hydrotech364, as he gifted me with 5 each Papaya and California Indica X Big Bud seeds. For that gift I am very, very grateful. All will be grown outdoors, possibly moved into greenhouse when that goes up.
Onto the journal bit! Seeds were set for germination Saturday evening, slightly scuffed with 150 grit sandpaper, then set on moist paper towels.
4 of the 5 Cali Indica X BigBud seeds have sprouted FAMOUSLY, those have been planted in peat pots that are put in cups with some soil and marked (I plan to breed with these strains) last night, 6.9.08.
2 of 5 Papaya seeds have sprouted, planted in peat pots then placed in soil as well, last night, 6.9.08.
All unsprouted are being left on their paper towels in a drawer in a temperature stable area in the hopes that all will sprout. I have not decided whether these plants will go into the greenhouse, they may just be grown entirely on the deck.
Pix to come later.
Of interest to me, notable differences between the two seed strains. The CaliXBB seeds are BIG, firm (hard actually), juicy looking, and beefy. The Papaya are notably smaller and more.. gracile.
