So ive seen some interesting things being said around about how to increase resin production before you harvest. Some people believe that by letting your medium go bone dry before harvesting increases resin. This is partially true but not the reason. Its dry air, not dry soil (the less amount of h20 in the soil, the less amount inthe air). You can trick the plant into believing that the coming up days will have harmful UV rays and dry heat. The resin increase is amazing, its one of the plant kindoms best reflectors of uv rays, and is also the reason why its so easy to pick up on uv sensative equiptment by the police. The real trick to this is to lower the humidity. getting a dehumidifier, and keeping fans going strong. depending on the size of the room, there could be gallons of water in the air. you should have humidity anywhere between 15-20%. the less the better. keep your lights just a little closer, or throw in a bulb that produces a little more uv rays.

another little fun fact is knowing when plants have been succesfully flushed.
using purified water with a ph of around 6.7-7.0
you should soak your soil till it runs out of the bottom. you should only do this once a week at the max. you can tell when it has been succesfully flushed when you break off a stem, taste the liquid that comes out. if its bitter....keep flushing.

lets see here, i think thats about it. if i think of anymore i'll edit my post

Its not so much "dry air", its more of heat producing resin glands. Of course in some conditions (such as using a MH) the radiant heat of that will dissipate the humidity giving you the "dry air" Even when its hot with high humidity you'll smell your plants more then in the cold with dry air. Thats why in a vid a dude talks about adjusting the light cycle last 2 weeks of flower. He says it produces really "kickin" THC as well as helping with the yield.

Edit: But I heard the other day about trich's/THC glands producing at night in their 12 hours off cycle. A guy said that leaving your plants in the dark last 24 hours before harvest really produces some good THC. You ever hear about that one? Also during mid cycle for indica's and towards the end for sativas (when their production slows down)leave your light on for 24 hours. It tricks the plants into thinking they are towards the end of their life cycle and supposed to fatten up nicely. I'm not sure about those only read a bit into them but might try them out this grow.

Jeffdogg, what sort of cycle change would this be?

Like adjusting to 12:30/11:30 the dude said some strains can have up to 14 hours of light last 2 weeks of flower. When I do it i'm gonna do 12:30/11:30 maybe a bit more

Its in the "Weed-How to grow Marijuana" DVD

I think that is a fact anymore that the best HPS lights for optimized buding are those which contain red spectrum up to 660nm!
Most hps growlamps in shops are including 680nm. In this range, thc levels can be decrease as much as 20%.

So try to find an hps which is up to 660nm and DOES NOT contain 680nm red spect.
