Seed germination problem

So I did a search and used the plate and paper towel method to start my seeds. It is now 48 hours since then. I got all my free/bonus seeds imurging. But my seeds I paid for aint even moved. The strain is Diamond Line - High Tension feminised.
I am just wondering how long should I give the seeds to sprout?
And also i got a little seed tray with a clear lid so its like a greenhouse. Do I put it outside in just the eastern sun? Under my back porch which is high set? Or all day sun? It is summer here. Was planning on keeping it under a standard fluro at night.
Cheers if someone has time to answer my newb questions.

I keep as much sun on them as possible and make sure it stays damp. I was germinating one recently and my dirt dried out to much. After 8 days I was about to throw it out but decided to put some water directly on where the seed was buried. Three days later it popped and everything is good.

Personally though my recommendation is not to complicate the process anymore than necessary. I stick my bean in a PH'd rock wool cube then bury it in soil. I have a 100% germination rate over the last 18 months. I don't buy shitty beans either though.

Ive actually tried a different method and my seeds kick off every time, I put them in a shot glass of mineral water and in a dark place, come back next day and give it a little stir the seed will sink to the bottom and then I plant it ...... And few days later.... Were in buisness.

I am going full hydro. Outside isnt really an option for variouse reasons. But I am gunna be patient and tip them a lot.
I need an online store with decent prices for complete hydro tents/kits. If you know one.
Sandstorm I soke other vegetable seeds before planting and I am starting to come around to doing the same with these kinds of seeds.

It works for me every time. No plate and tissue the seed takes in the water it needs and your good ive never had a seed take longer than 4days to pop her head through I promise you. Um I dont reli know anywhere to get hydro kits yet as I am a nebie aswell and am still manualy watering and checking myself. Good luck with your grow my friend.

The thing missing from your method so far is heat, in my exp the thing that brings them on quicker than anything else is a little heat, around 80f usually does the trick. I used a heated propagator that can be got cheaply at any garden centre, but if you put your container with the seeds in in a warm place say above a radiator this will work just as well. I take it you have your damp paper towel contained within a small Tupperware dish or similar receptacle, this stops the paper towel drying out and contains the humidity, also necessary. Good Luck

In the future scuff your seeds slightly with a nail file or sand paper... You don't want to damage them... Just scuff them a little.. It will help moisture transportation..

some people glue sand paper or an emery board to the inside of a match box. Put seeds in and give them a shake or two...

I have never heared of that mate, I guess it just loosens up the surface and allows better water penetration. Still its the first time ive ever heard that. :)
