i spent some serious cash on seeds and ended up with a blight.. i think it was because of bad soil.. my partner bought seed starter soil at k-mart of all places... would you guys concur that it is more likely this soil than some kind of virus? - what happened is they broke the surface and put on small leaves on what i think are small stems compared to others - then a few days later they start to bend violently like part of the stem is rotten.. the leaves are the last to go.. my guess is that this Kameapart soil is not the right Ph.. am i right?

what brand is the soil?
what is the ph of the soil?
how much did you water them?
what kind of light were they getting?
how long were they under the light each day?
how far away from the light are they?
how tall are they?
where did the seeds come from?
were the seeds premature? (whitish green)
what temperatures were they exposed to?

chances are they were over watered or they have no fan blowing on them to help strengthen the stem. really need more info

next time start with bagseed. you wouldn't teach someone how to drive using a ferrari would you?

what brand is the soil? - not sure - sorry - threw out the bags..

what is the ph of the soil?
- didn't bother to test.. :dunce:

how much did you water them?
- once when they were first planted, but this soil really soaked it up..

what kind of light were they getting?
- 2 x 100 watt full spectrum just like the other batches..

how long were they under the light each day?
- all night..

how far away from the light are they?
- far - like 2 feet..

how tall are they? - 1.5 - 2 inch

where did the seeds come from?
- some bagseed, some from attitude (green house, kiwi seeds, some others)

were the seeds premature? (whitish green)
- not a problem with the seeds..

what temperatures were they exposed to? - by the window it may have been 65 with the door open to like 80 with the heater going..

chances are they were over watered or they have no fan blowing on them to help strengthen the stem. really need more info
- we have done 2 other batches of seeds in this exact location with proper soil and they all survived - we used the same amount of water, but maybe it was not right with this soil..

next time start with bagseed. you wouldn't teach someone how to drive using a ferrari would you?
- between us we have years of experience with plants and seedlings.. this is the only time this has happened..

Honestly, it doesn't sound like it was the soil, it sounds like something else in their environment.

It could've been the soil. I had a problem once, and it ended up being the soil, which was a bitch to figure out because i used that same brand of soil for the previous grow and it worked fine. The leaves turned brown with blotches, and sorta twisty, like a phosphorus problem of some type of blight/fungus, then slowly died off. I sprayed them with every type of anti-fungus stuff on the planet and it didn't help.lol Then I ended up transplanting to, of all things....MG soil.lol And actually, they recover soon afterwards, and finished out great, except for the ones that got really damaged and mutated. Anyway, I was told that the soil went 'sour' from sitting out in the sun for months, while being soaking wet, which made sense. I didn't have the proper testers at the time, so i don't know what the actual problem was, all I know is that it was the soil, without a doubt. The dickhead that sold it to me told me that it was impossible for soil to go bad, and still sticks to it. The retard.LOL
