I have a 2 bulb fixture I’m using for my seedlings. They’re almost a week old and will be under this light for at least another week. The current bulb are cfl 2700k with 1650 lumens. I also have some cfl 6500k with only 800 lumens…which would be better? Thanks! Btw, other than stretching when I had the light too far they look happy and healthy with the 2700k-1650 lumen bulbs I just wasnt sure if then 6500k with less lumens would be better?

I'm in the camp that doesn't transplant. Sprouts get 13,500 lux using 3000k. With the 13,500 figure being measured at soil level.
I get about 2- 2.5" of sprout stretch before the true leaves show up.
I've done the bulbs in the cabinet thing. Cups. Boy-o-boy, did it suck.

Yeah the cabinet thing sucks.theyre there because it gets too cold during lights off time in my grow space. Soon my others will be chopped down and I’ll put them under the 600w mh bulb.
If I can get a heater in there would I be better off putting them in with the flowering plants(autos) that are on 18/6 or just leave them in the box with 24hrs light?

I do the paper towel thing. Set on top the hot water heater. 82°-83°. Once the tap root emerges. The seeds go directly to the pot, where they'll live the rest of their life.
No weak bulbs, no transplant shock or drama. After 7 days old. The Lux is walked up to 15k-17k. With the last step of 24k 12" above the soil for veg. 18/6.
The room air temperature is 84° for sprouts.

Don't mind the nute stains on the leaves lol
but yea.. cfl is all I use.
I use a heating pad and thermostat tho so they stay warm at night.

Thats perfect setup for seedling i usually use that for veg too unless a hps chamber is free.

I use phillips 6500k split so x 2 23watt in each light. You can use that combo for whole veg. That gives you 7000 lumans each fixture.

So you can run even 5way splitter like 2nd pic or 2 way splitter but once i get 3 plants in veg i up to a mars like hydrokid does. But by no means do you have too in veg doesnt need many lumens now when in flower i overkill lights lol.

They have things like corn led but I can't find anything like those. And nothing like 7000 lumens.
