Seedling questions - Barney’s bubba/scrog grow

Hey ladies and gents…
2nd grow here. First where I’ve started all inside. Last grow was accidental and mostly outdoors until my neighbor trimmed down some hedges and privacy became an issue.

These are Barney’s Bubba Kush… popped Nov 6 and placed in soil Nov 11. The solo cups have excellent drainage and are filled with FF happy frog. The bigger pots are FF ocean forest.

Based on the look of the plants I feel like some possible overwatering had occurred. Also first repot is set for tomorrow am as roots began peeking through the second cup this am.

My question…. Should the pale yellow appearance on the first two serated leaves be troubling or is this normal for those leaves to yellow/die off as the cotelydons do after time.

Other info:
1. Watering with distilled - 6.9 ph/no nutes
2. Run off is - 250ish ppm and 6.7-6.9ph regularly
3. Running lights about 65-75% about 19-20” from the girls

1. Throw distilled out the window …. Use tap.
2. Stop testing runoff period
3. Water it only as needed.
4. Just transplant it. ( out of that cup ) - unnecessary reason to even do it.

5. Also , don’t overthink , hover , baby love it to death.

Let the base medium just feed it ALONE - No added nutes or supplement crap.
Soil is buffered and tap is fine. Base soil in container should be able to carry growth for weeks all by itself …. Then you can recharge it ( exhausted nutes ) by top dressing MORE soil and watering in or a good dry fertilizer to scratch-in / water for extended feeding. You can also look into LST / training for bumping the number of juicy tops up and harvesting better.

Stay away from multi-bottle nute lines.
It’s just a plant ….. what other plant needs 40 bottles to feed it …..NONE.

Keep shit simple.

Word. Thanks for taking the time to give some advice. One follow up question…. You mention something about the transplant and something being unnecessary. Are you meaning to say starting them in solos is unnecessary and just starting in the larger pot has give better results for you? If not, will you clarify for me?

What light is that? How many hours a day are you running it for?

Everything Budz said and also stop watering to runoff it’s soil your just washing the food and microbes out of your soil.

I’m talking about the solo cup within bigger container.
No need to bury cup. You can now pull plant from cup , dust roots with myco and transplant.

Oh, understood. Those were only that way for 12-18 hours. Sat them that way to get my light adjusted for when canopy level would change at repot.
I misunderstood on the Myco…. It was unfortunately mixed with the water at transplant just as lights went off this am.

That light might be a little close for such a young plant. Try taking it up to 24".

Your recommendation supports other research I’ve done. Good eye.
Moved it up to about 24” and dropped to 33% intensity this am to help them to recover from the transplant as soon as possible (hopefully).

Thanks for all the help. Little update….

Transplanted at 9:45 this am. Watered in each with about 2-3qt of 6.8 ph H2O w/ Trifecta MycoSupreme mixed in the water.

They appear to be taking the stress well and we appreciate all the help/support.

Lights have been increased to the recommended 24”. Pics attached.

Hey Brother, your advice last time was really helpful. Weird thing is… it seems one plant responded a little better than the other the past week.
Have a look at B. She has droopy/crinkling yellowing/browning lower leaves. Where as the issue has practically stopped on C.

I backed off on watering them so heavy the past week. Actually my moisture meter only called for one light watering since one week ago. And I prob only watered the inside half of the pot so the soil wouldn’t sit wet where no roots have spread (I assume they haven’t spread there at least…. Idk).

Is this even anything to worry about? I feel like with it being in the FFOF it can’t be a nutrients issue.

Trying to keep it simple as you’ve suggested but you know it’s hard For us newbies lol.

Listen , adapt simple gardening skills when growing the ganja - it’s still just a plant . Definitely control your watering habits - plant doesn’t need daily watering. Overwatering will screw up shit … drowning the plant , leaching the medium / nutes , uptake issues , brown serrated edges , low oxygen.

And probably even more shit. Let the tell you when to water - and not necessarily to full saturation. You want roots to SEEK moisture not flooding them.

Lift pots when wet - lift when dry ( let it happen ) , easy way to judge . Pot heavy after say 3-4 days then you watered too damn much , so you would just leave
it alone - so it can work thru it.

Sometimes it’s the Simplest Shit a grower does that fucks up the grow.

Super appreciate ya man. I think it may still be having a heavy hand with the water. I don’t know why I baby them so much. But still learning/adjusting my habits daily. Thanks again.
