Seedlings

Hi everyone,

I just repotted these seedlings and am wondering what sort of light I should have them under. Are they looking healthy enough? Any thing that I need to address?
I am going to get a pH meter this week!


These two are sort of the least healthy of the bunch, some nute issues on the second one and I think I cooked the top one a lil bit under some light (some what as an experiement).

I'm running a 600W HPS so I'm keeping them at max distance from that until they get a big bigger, is this okay?

This sucker was growing off the first plant pictured, maybe it will take root and grow up big and strong ?

Yes Iv done seeds million times with all wattage bulbs, sometimes you have to make do, better a CFL imo , or led,

Just get a couple 23 watt CFL's or home LED's and place the lights a few inches above the plants. Seedlings don't need high power light from the get-go. grow six to eight inches tall or so before you put them under the HID light.

I've been using a 4 bulb T5 fixture with 54 watt High Output 6500K bulbs for years to start seeds and veg plants under. It works great for starting seeds. I use the top of it as a heat mat as well for the first couple days before the seeds pop.

Haha if I had a T5 fixture handy you betcha I'd be using it!

Settling for some 1400 lumen CFL bulbs at the moment for the small ones and the bigger seedlings are on the floor of the tent.

Well you did ask what type of light you should have them under. But yeah, the T5's work great for seedlings and early veg.

What type of soil are you using? They look a little over watered and the soil might be a little hot. You're not feeding them yet are you?

I've put them in the tent and they're going okay, those pics are right after transplant and a water, I'm not feeding them at all other than the leftover slow release ferts from the previous soil. The new soil is a local peat mixed with pumice, there's a tiny bit of another soil in there from when they were in cups stuck to the roots and yes it had slow release ferts Hopefully the repot will dilute those nutes!
