Seeds in my crop

My latest crop has got loads of seeds through the buds :(

I'm pretty sure there were no males as they were all clones from an established mum and all flowered, but they did get hit bad with spider mite.

What's gone wrong and what can I do to prevent it next time?

What is a Hermaphrodite plant?

An hermaphrodite, or hermie, is a Marijuana plant of one sex that develops the sexual organs of the other sex. Most commonly, a flowering female Marijuana plant will develop staminate flowers, though the reverse is also true. Primarily male hermaphrodites are not as well recognized only because few growers let their males reach a point of flowering where the pistillate would be expressed.
Hermaphrodites are generally viewed with disfavor. First, they will release pollen and ruin a sinsemelia crop, pollinating themselves and all of the other females in the room. Second, the resulting seeds are worthless, because hermaphrodite parents tend to pass on the tendency to their offspring.

Please note that occassionally specious staminate flowers will appear in the last days of flowering of a female Marijuana plant. These do not drop pollen and their appearance is not considered evidence of deleterious hermaphroditism.

Here's an image of a hermaphrodite, specifically a female Marijuana plant with staminate flowers.

I highly doubt it was the spider mites that turned it hermie, you'll probably find there were other stresses too.

You can get this stuff called "reverse" made by Dutch Masters which will neutralize the pollen from making any seeds. It's not a sex change, but more like a type of family planning control for plants.

So if not the mites, then what should i be particularly careful of next time?

This "reverse" stuff. Would that be something to use as standard on each crop to help ensure it doesn't happen, or just if I noticed seeds early on?

careful of the stuff the guy above said...stress, like heat and interruptions in light cycle. Someone once told me that he would force a little piece of a female to give seeds by flashing a piece of the bud with a little light.

No, I don't think you'd want to use it on each grow as a preventative but then I'm not too sure. WHen using Reverse you also need to use Penetrator which is a thing for foiliar feeding to get whatever you want to stick to the leaves (in this case it's the Reverse you'd want to stick to the flowers).
