Selecting males for breeding

I have selected a few strong males before. I am not a breeder.. In the last year I have been trying my luck at a few different things, but have not put in the time and dedication that our most respected friends have. That being said, this plant looks like it’s going to be a boy. It has no pre-flowers, but where the cola would sit it looks like it’s going to be a male cluster, just no balls anywhere as of yet. You obviously can’t really smell it through the screen, but what do you guys look for? Does the structure from what you can tell look decent enough from some thing you would select?

Your looking for traits you would like to pass on to the female. You want to find a male that smells like weed, has tight flower clusters, compact and short spacing. Ect
