Serious problem help

my fucking light keeps switching off automatically, i have 2 things plugged into my dual timer and the cfls dont go off but my hps light wont stay on, i need some serious help soon im 4 weeks into flower almost

sounds like your balast is going out.....

tyr just plugging the hps in and see if it still does it. if so than Autek is right-if the lights flickers after being on or starts bright but goes dim, than it is ur bulb

Your bulb is bad, I just had this happen to me. Replace your bulb.

yea i figured it was my bulb what i dont understand is why the fuck it says 24 thousand hour life then dies on its second grow, wtf u know

The HID bulbs should be replaced every two grows anyway. I often replace them for every grow if I have the money. They degrade and the light output goes down dramatically over time. After two grows it's only throwing somewhere between 75% to as low as 50% of the original lumens on that bulb.

yea i already had realized that but i dumped so much money into this first grow already i was kinda trying to not spend anymore on a bulb (however cheap and stupid it might be) but i was gonna def change it after this one i just wanted to get through this, i like left the light on in my room for awhile out of the grow room cus its there sleepy time but like the ballast has a low hum and light light is just like a blueish purplish in the middle but its not kicking on to its orange familiarness, do u still think its just the bulb? cus it is working, just its only emiitting a small small amount of blue flickering

the funniest thing is that the last grow was diesel ryder with this light bulb, i bought the 150watter to experiment with just to see what i can get, i guess u get what u pay for, maybe ill just say fuck it and order a 600 watter tonight like i should of the first time

There's nothing wrong with the 150's and the bulbs are barely over $5 ea. But if you want a larger grow sure, getting a 600 isn't something you would regret unless you have no air conditioning and it heats up the room too much.

I would suggest you still get a new bulb for the 150 either way. They make good supplemental lighing for large grows and one of them in the middle of 4 plants will add a lot to the lower growth on the plant.

argh i dont know what to do, thing is the light comes on at 9 am and i only have 2 cfls, nothing is open on new years day so my plants are going to seriously suffer either way for at least 1 or 2 days i dont know im stumped....

at least 12 hours of uninterrupted dark.....would it be better to leave it dark?how long has it been messed up?

It is no big deal, just keep them on the same scedule even if you only have a couple cfl's working.

But if you are in a rush you can get the 150 bulbs at home depot, lowes, tru value, etc if you look around. Some stores may be out or not have them but go to about three stores and I'm sure at least one will. It will be 3x as much as ordering on line though.

yea i know i can get them at home depot or lowes right down the road an hr but i wanna order it online cus its so much cheaper maybe i can get the shit overnighted to me

it really hasnt gotten messed up, ill give you the full run down, 2 days ago i was chillin home from work everything was straight all day long, no problems brought my close close friend over was showing him the buds and shit and i didnt see 1 prob, tues woke up about 10, they come on at 9 am, nothing looked abnormal i checked the ph, the ppm and to make sure my roots werent brown, wrote it down and left and went to work, they fall asleep at 9 so i wasnt able to see them before i came home from work. Today i woke up at 10 to business as usual, i packed a pipe and as i was smokin i heard a small click, thought it was odd, went in there, the light was off, unplugged for 5 mins plugged back in did the same thing, then i put a fan on it, it stayed on for maybe 20 more mins then shut off, after that i had to go to work, sorry 4 the fucking novel i guess im stoned

so really, no dark has been interupted other than when i went in tonight and got my light out of there, which was barley any leak at all

hmm, dont you have a lowes or home depot near you; maybe those stores would still be open on the first.. hey have HID bulbs.. in the meantime using the one the one you have for two days shouldnt have that big of an affect on your plant; even with the lower output..

wont be too bad as said resume normal light asap.

yea i have a lowes and a hd about 1 hr away, i work in the area and its not a big deal to get one BUT i work down there and live about 1 hr away so id have to wake up go down there, come back plug my bulb in and leave again, thats kinda shitty, so i think ill just leave my cfls on and maybe the tru value down the road will have it if not there down a day thats all
