set up in 6x7 ft area

first i have power limitations, is 3 600 watts on tracks enough for the area?
strain is northern lights x bigbud

what is the best grow medium for a newbie i am thinking about soil with a wicking system.

Nope you have 10 sq feet to much for your lights. Forget the movers, you will grow the same if you leave the light over the plants. Three 600's will cover a 4x8 and up to 3.5 feet high. so don't veg too long. Just build a 4x8 box out of 2x12's and line with pond liner add dirt and farm. or in 10" pots
