Sexing Question...

Can you tell the sex of a plant in the veg stage without pre-flowering?

Only on 12/12 from my knowledge unless pre-flowers appear meaning its ready to flower on some strains. Or its a Lowryder which flowers under any light.

The reason I asked is because the guy who I am growing with (He has never grow before, neither have I(I water and everything he just gives me money towards the power) anyway... he walks into the grow room, looks at the first plant and says... That's a male, looks at the second plant and says, that's a female and then he looks at another and says.. that's a male, But then he goes back to the first plant and said.. That's a female. I said to him you just said that was a male.. you don't know what you are fucking talking about, so he said that he read it in a book (He shows me the book) But the books says 2 methods 1. The waiting game, 2. Pre-flowering and then he started talking about some shit.

If that makes any sense.

just check for balls and buds man and if their are nun than he is just dumb and doesnt know what he is talking about most likely!!!!!
