It's not bad man. I've seen some first time growers with autos the size of my thumb. So you're doing good. A plant will (generally) at least double in size through flower. So you'll be just fine. If you want some bigger plants with more control of the veg/flower cycle just stick with good ol' photoperiods. They're alot easier for newer growers because if you make a mistake you can just tack on some extra veg time, with an auto you can't it's just does its own thing when it feels its time to. Things like stress can and will make it flower sooner than later too
