Found some older ones from a strain I liked alot but its going on 48 hours and only one shows signs of germinating out of five.

They are well over a year old. Were stored in a pill bottle with tin foil wrapped around it to light proof the bottle.

they shall grow.. if they were taken care of and viable in the 1st place..

you know there is a Plant Seed bank which houses the seeds of the worlds plants (not sure how long they keep them )

had many seeds pop up from 3-4 + years old..

I know what ur talking about. That's a temperature controlled vault built in case of a doomsday scenario tho brother.

Thanks for the reply tho. They did look a bit immature. If I get one to crack its all good.

I have germinated seeds that were 2 years old kept in a small vile inside a box. It took them right around a week to pop. I don't use the paper towel method, maybe this would speed it up. I use peat pellets in a small pot surrounded by perlite.

I store my beans in a mason jar with a handful of cotton balls on top and keep it in my fridge door. So far the oldest I've germinated out of there was 10mo old perfect 5/5 germ rate. I always take them out a day before I want to germ them, in my head it seems better to germ them at room temp, no proof of this though.

if seeds are matured 4 to 6 weeks
dried correctly before being stored
and stored properly with rice or more powerful (i cant think of name of little packs comes in electronics an pills to dehumidafy)
placenin frig shold be good 20 30 years

me personally think not sure woud last about one hunnerd i think you would get a couple to pop if stored say about a hunnerd

of course will have decreasing germ rate wit added years

Depending on the strain, the quality of the seed, and how you store it they can be viable for up to 5 years.

I recently germinated some seeds that i had stored for about 5 years they all cracked after about 24hrs and are now growing strong. 100% success rate.
