I have germinated seeds that were 2 years old kept in a small vile inside a box. It took them right around a week to pop. I don't use the paper towel method, maybe this would speed it up. I use peat pellets in a small pot surrounded by perlite.Found some older ones from a strain I liked alot but its going on 48 hours and only one shows signs of germinating out of five.
They are well over a year old. Were stored in a pill bottle with tin foil wrapped around it to light proof the bottle.
Depending on the strain, the quality of the seed, and how you store it they can be viable for up to 5 years.Found some older ones from a strain I liked alot but its going on 48 hours and only one shows signs of germinating out of five.
