SHH! Don't tell my landlord I'm growing in my closet! (400 watt Apollo HPS in closet)

$225 for a 1/4lb is pretty damn good if you look at it that way.

Those are some healthy fat children.
$225 can't be beat! and thanks for lookin!

I'm done topping for now, had bad experiences trying to "FIM" these, I plan on LST for just a bit longer as lights are changing cycle in about a week. I want to fill that closet as much as I can, I know about half aren't gonna make the team, so I need everyone playing a 110%!

heres a couple pics, one of course is my highly anticipated pre-flower signs! forgot to mention, that this one I'm LSTing and that is pre-flowering is my wife's family's strain (also 25+ years in Alaska). A Highly sleep inducing Indica that I have come to call "The Grouch", as the primary grower is not A grouch, he is THE Grouch! I had to BEG a few seeds off of him, he wouldn't let me take any cuttings, because "it hurts the plant"...... glad to see at least one of my seeds was female! I'm gonna take a couple of clones from her before I flower. It'll give me just the right amount of time I'll need to prepare a new disposable nerf dart cloner! if anyone is interested I'll post pics of how to make it, and then show case my results!

Beautiful. The Grouch looks great as well. Any specific guidelines that you follow for LST? Yours looks like it is split like an intersection.

was originally gonna do "tuttankamen" (I think that's the right term) but I accidently split one section almost all the way off and got scared of shit getting tied down so tight so I relaxed a bit. I've kinda let it get out of hand though (out of fear of accidently ripping that branch off completely), maybe its time to defoliate so everything can get some sweet HPS!

5 confirmed females, and 3 confirmed males! I decided to take clones from "The Grouch", I figure even if I have to leave for 2 weeks I can repot which ever ones make it into 3 gal. bags or 5 gal bucket make sure they're drenched and leave a single cfl on til I get back.... maybe its a bad idea, but if they make it, I'll have less work when I get back. More pics tomorrow!

  • great post and yeah post some pix

Been a couple weeks since the last update... Have 6 confirmed females the rest have been removed I'm starting to think I should take out the smallest one and try to get the others to spread out. I built my nerf dart cloner with decent success and am getting ready to move a TOM male clone and 2 Grouch clones over to a friends house to try and cross breed Into my own strain. Pics of week 2 flower tonight when I get home.

hey frozenchozen sorry your landlord isnt cool with what youre doing i have a rental myself & see no problems with indoor growing as long as there is no damage to the house i would consider it none of my business hell it would be kinda nice to have a tenant that didnt walk up & down the driveway complaining of skunk smell all the time forcing me to use ona-gel to shut his ass up

sites been down as everyone knows, ill get pics up tonight when I get home from work. I have been contemplating adding another 400 in my cool tube, but with the limited horizontal space and already having 6 4 foot monsters in my closet i'm not sure that it would help me. I have been doing a lot of reading about vertical/ stadium grows, considering my space (3.5' W 2.5' L and 7.5' H) I might try my hand at it... just a thought

horribleherk- It's not that he's not cool with the grow, well I don't know if he is or not. I know he smokes, hell I smoke with him. I'm in a pretty upscale neighborhood though, with my kids school right across the street and a husband and wife cop next door. I just don't want him or any other prying eyes in my business

4-1-14-Look at the 2x4 vs. the canopy

and this is only a week later on 4/8/14
IMG_7158_zps0a9bc8a8.jpg

Grow space is roughly 2'L x 3'W x 7'H I have 6 sexy ladies and 400 glorious watts of HPS, how far up should I defoliate? Or do I let 'em run wild?
IMG_7154_zpsc863bdc6.jpg

Can barely see the light looking up through the canopy

Kinda hard to see it just right but the 1 Grouch I have had a crazy 5 inch growth spurt one night and I got home to find this ugly ass burn on the main cola:wall:.... thankfully she shot another branch up to make up for it, I gotta pull this hps up to about 10" off the canopy so I got time to notice these things....Thoughts for later...

I'm a little over 2 weeks into flower, I should be further but my wife was trying to make the way cords ran more "efficient" and she unknowingly plugged my 5- 68 watt cfls into the constant plug instead of the 12/12:cuss:...
it worked fine before you got in there and started fuckin with stuff, leave well enough alone!
Thankfully I caught it in time!

AND NOW SOME BUD-PORN (well kinda!)

Any comments? suggestions? Getting a little worried about the lack of comments, am I doing anything wrong? Is this a decent journal so far?

started looking close at a few leaves, I think I have thripps... i'll check better tomorrow... Anyone know a good way to get rid of em?

thrips_zpsf9d67b81.jpg

Thrips (Order Thysanoptera) are tiny, slender insects with fringed wings. Thrips species feed on a large variety of plants and animals by puncturing them and sucking up the contents. A large number of thrips species are considered pests, because they feed on plants with commercial value. Some species of thrips feed on other insects or mites and are considered beneficial, while some feed on fungal spores or pollen. Thrips are generally tiny (1 mm long or less) and are not good flyers, although they can be carried long distances by the wind. In the right conditions, many species can exponentially increase in population size and form large swarms, making them an irritation to humans.
Like the words sheep, deer or moose, the word thrips is used for both the singular and plural forms, so there may be many thrips or a single thrips.

they don't get very high up on the foliage as they are more fond of shady/ cooler temps. but still its upsetting that I got bugs from soil.... f*ckin bs it is! but you live and learn, no more local mom and pops brands on future grows... I just hate the idea of bugs on my nugs!

shit ! im sure ive had them in the past ! i had something that was almost sucking the life out of one doomed grow !
im annoyed for you if you have got em as i can see how nicely they have been cared for
.
have you def got em ? whats the move from here ?
