Shopping for tents - Advice

I decide I would upgrade my closet grow and put a tent inside it. Eventually I will want something to control a little of the smell when I flower I dont expect smell-proofing but main concern is light leakage when I go 12/12. I have a window right outside closet so I already gathered up parts at hardware store to make a pass thru for ventilation with some dryer vent parts just need a tent and proper hose. Lights and fans are already in use and I have a box of larger server fans if I need to make anything to assist air in or out.

Inside of my closet is 20" x 48" x 90" so I have been looking at some that are 36" x 20" x 62" to leave some room around it for exhaust hoses etc.

From what I see for under $75 I can get one on ebay like this one but I have no clue on quality or what I should be aware of in buying one.
Any Advice? Thanks.

I should probably add that I grow in soil

Gotcha I started on Amazon just found better prices on ebay. I got no worries about discreet shipping not sure why I would nothing illegal about a grow tent heck hey sell them at Home Depot and Lowes so I got few stores near me where I can walk in and buy just big savings buying on line from prices I have see so far. Just gettin educated before I open my wallet.

If you can go to a grow store and check them out, do so. I've seen several and a few have shitty zippers. Also, beware of negative pressure in the tent. The walls will get sucked in and limit your growing landscape.

hey gang, just started growing and haven't grown before, I have under estimated my space by how hot my light gets and got myself into a real pickle, lol. I need to totally redo my veg stage room. I stumbled upon these indoor grow tents which I have never hear of before. I came to this sight that sells them which confused me a bit and am hoping someone can help clarify what this means.

You need one piece. They sell cheep because you have to buy in bulk

Shop around for tents, defiantly look at the reviews! You don't NEED to run an exhaust outside, just invest in a decent carbon scrubber. Do some research and shop around!

Also if your main concern is just light proofing it that's manageable with some common sense, a roll of mylar and some velcro. Just make a frame with the mylar joining to the inside of the cupboard and stick another sheet of mylar to it on one side and put the velcro around the rest of the frame to make a velcro attached door. A tent probably wont do the best job at smell proofing either because they usually come with holes for vents which usually close back up with velcro so I'd just go with @Just Let Me Be Faded suggestion and get a good carbon filter and you'll be good to go

I got my 2x4 tent frm ebay.Its not the best but it grows well and im satisfied with it so much so. I even bought. A smaller tent for my mother plant and veg area.
I do have a 4 inch fan in my big tent and a carbon filter i have enough draw through my vents. That i dont have any negative pressure problems.I run t5 lights as well.

I have 2 tents I'd like to sell. Both are in great shape no tears no modification or wear from use zippers in great shape. Both tents are made by Apollo Horticulture got them new on Amazon One is 3x3x6 other is 4x2x5. I've had both tents less than 6 months. Reason for selling is that I have decided to build a grow room. I Can easily pack and ship the tent without damaging them. If interested send me your email and I can take pics to show condition Asking $50 per tent and you cover the shipping cost. Located in Kentucky and I do travel to Charelston SC regularly incase you live between here and there I'll drop it off.

I have bought all my tents on ebay and even the lowest quality was good. I have had 2mx2m, 1x1m, 1.2x60cm, 2.4x1.2 and 1.2x1.2m
Recently I got a black orchid tent and the reflectivity and build quality is excellent with a few extra touches like a pocket for ph meter and extra strong zips. The other tents I have used never failed with the zips. Overall the quality is a lot better now because the cheap ones that used to be available got sent back too often so the Chinese stick to making better quality these days, most stuff on ebay and amazon is Chinese. If you have any problems with light leaks after buying make sure all your internal zip covers are overlapped correctly, if you still have problems then you can buy light proof cloth very cheap to cover it.

Alibaba is a great source but mainly for resellers. The 100units will get you the top price quoted, you would need to buy 500 or more to get the lower quoted price. They will also be giving a rough estimate with those prices which likely cover different size tents. Minimum orders are there to put people like you off wasting their time, they want big orders. You may also have to pay import duty depending on where you are located and the charges for delivery will be high for 1 unit.
Use ebay or amazon or aliexpress for single unit orders. usually free shipping included
You may find someone on Alibaba who will sell you a sample order or 1 unit but theres no need, use ebay.
In case that's not clear 1 unit is 1 tent and they want you to buy 100 tents in order to do business. Don't waste your time or theirs.

@Magnetoman the tent you linked will do the job fine. Non toxic, they all are these days but once upon a time they were not and cheap ones gave off fumes when hot. Those days are behind us now.

Do you think the Gorilla tents are worth the premium price,

There a fair amount more expensive then all other brands.

Tossing up on whether there worth the dollars.

That is one thing I have not tried, they look more well built and I assume extra light proofing measures. I have never had a problem with weight damaging the structure of any of my tents so far. The bigger ones, 2mx2m and what I use now 2.4mx1.2m both held up a reasonably heavy silenced airforce2 8" fan and 10" filter as well as a 5" ruck and 4" ruck, the filters for those were in other tents. The main tent has 3 cool tubes and bulbs and extra ducting and insulation too. So in my eyes holds considerable weight for a standard tent pole diameter.
I believe those gorilla tents use a lot thicker pole and can take more weight.
If you feel you really need to support much more weight then possibly worth the extra.
I wont knock anything that is a quality build but I have not seen the need for the extra expense over the last 5 years. My tents are down now but they were as sturdy when I dismantled them as they were when I put them up. No kinks in tubes, no rips in the fabric and no zip fails.
I think if I were to ever go bigger than 2mx2m then the need for a stronger tent would be more likely so it depends on how much you want to put in there and how big you are going. I'm sure they are great tents and in this hobby there no reason to skimp on spending if your not on a tight budget

Edit, those poles are the same diameter as tents i have used, could be thicker though, extendable is an interesting option, but is it needed or just a fancy gimmick??

Love he window and the thickness of the fabric.
Look like top tents.
The height extension isnt really a feature I require since I don't grow large plants, but I'm sure heaps of people would like it.

There over three times the price of competitors.
I'm always happy to pay for quality, but don't like getting ripped off either.

im happy with the secret jardin. But im sure gorilla is a higher quality tent. I bet apollo horticutures on amazon are passable but because of the exact size I needed I went with Jardin.
