Should i buy chiller for my Dwc set up

I currently have a 9 plant set up and i am really considering buying a chiller but they are quite expensive. Anyone on here actually use one and can help justify their cost? My res temps sometimes get up to 24-26 degrees c but never yet suffered root rot or any problems

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

I never needed one in my hydro setups. Never had bad roots. I do use hydroguard though.

Ghetto chiller: 2lt soda bottles frozen floating around in the res is the most I ever did just to do it. When I was paranoid about res temps. Lasted about 1 day and I said fuk that. I'm too lazy for this.

Ok thanks for the reply. I was just looking at ways to potentially improve my set up more and just get that one bit better at it all

Yea i would do that but because mines in a room ad the doors at one end from mid flower onwards it’s almost impossible to get in lol

No worries. You may have to upgrade in the future but see what happens before adding more variables. Good luck.

If you use it with a res that's insulated. Like an ice chest or Igloo water thingy. The above probe without a controller will chill 8-10gallons to 65°. You can use it with a ink bird or buy the optional thermostat.

You’ll be understanding chillers the first time you do get root problems. But if your solution can stay 70F or cooler you should be okay without one.

Thanks mate as said just trying to better my current set up, i think making sure everything else (nutes, temp,humidity) is all perfect will give me more back than anything i can buy

Last summer, here in Alaska, I go with a friend to pick up a truck at this house. Both of us grow cannabis and produce. The guy we were going to get the truck from straight as an arrow according to my buddy.

But the guy asks if I was the guy who liked gardening. Sends me to a car shelter in the back of the property to check it out while they got the truck running. Tomatoes. In Alaska red tomatoes.

10 or so cheap ass styrofoam coolers with the tops sitting sideways across them. Each one had a netbasket in it. Roots hanging down in totally inert water with algae on the sides. Breaking every standard of hydroponics and yet there I am surrounded by tomatoes. In Alaska.
