Should I defoliate? Day 24 of Flowering

In week 4 of flowering (just started). I've LST'd them from the start. 51 days of veg. Papaya & Casey Jones. 400w COB until yesterday, now under 600w COB.

Should I defoliate like 10-15 leaves from each plant? I've understood it will help my yield. Will it hurt doing it all in a single trimming?

do not remove any leaves still functioning. seems ignorant in flower doesnt it? apple orchards dont do this during flower, only at the end/beginning of the season? orange growers get more fruit by ripping energy producing leaves off? c'mon
in veg this causes auxins to shift and new growth to appear. in flower this causes
good growers to facepalm.

Yeah I mean, I've heard both sides of the coin. "Why remove leaves when they act as solar panels" "Dont remove if theyre healthy" etc

... but I've heard the other side saying it increased yield and helped lower leaves receive light, so it was beneficial even if we were removing some higher leaves. I've read it wasn't beneficial outdoors since a lot of leaves were naturally removed anyways, via wind, or animals, etc.
Indoors we have perfect conditions therefore a higher amount of leaves providing more shade to fruiting areas. At least that's what I was led to believe. And these weren't amateur growers.

That's why I'm torn enough to ask what everyone thinks.
 
indoors we do not have perfect conditions, by far. waaay more foliage occurs on an outdoor plant. huge fist size buds grow on lower branches tucked in dark areas of the plant too. all myths man, read the grow bible.

if yields is what you want veg longer. vegging for a year before flowering can result in a 20 foot tree, you can scrog all year if you like, be reasonable, grow another one instead. train one in veg, like a sog, vertical or the like. there are NO tricks....otherwise they woulldnt be called tricks, but just the way we do it .

I do it it increases air flow just dont over do it some people say yea some sea na but it is not a apple how you gunna compare them ? Kinda funny
 
Half this board votes yes and the other screams no i do it cause i fill it increases yeild but thats me
 
I wonder if anyone has done a side by side comparison of the same strain in the same conditions. Defoliated and not defoliated.

That would be a more apples to apples comparison, now that we're talking about fruit.

I do believe lollipopping to be effective when the canopy is very thick (like 14"+) or the lighting is inadequate (cfl, cheap led)

In your case I would not defoliate at all
 
Thank you. That's all I'm looking for. Everyones opinion on what they would do. This is my first real grow and I want to do it right.

Someone on reddit just was saying I should trim a bunch of leaves and I wanted some other people's opinion since I was under the impression that I shouldn't mess with healthy canopy leaves.

Just added the second Roleadro COB light with another 200w so hoping the additional light will help. I'm getting more coverage now.
