Not much else to say should I start removing leaves to allow light to under the canopy 43 days into flower. ..43 days since flip
should I defoliate....

some will say yes...others will say no, do not expect to get a clear answer, as such you will have to make your choice based on your knowledge of the subject
My thoughts are if you need to ask, then you really shouldn't be defoliating...read lots about it before even considering it
IMHO, if that was my plant, I would not defoliate it..... but others will have opposing opinions

use some garden wire to gently pin the branch's back, bend the ends in a hook shape and they will hook over the branch and the other end over the rim of your potting container.

As one of the people who are PRO trimming/ pruning/ defoliating.....I say don't bother!!!
2 reasons-
Firstly if you want to defoliate, you need to start young and have a plan for the future at different stages.
Doing anything at this stage will only lessen what you have.
Secondly, you're only 6 weeks into flower. If you really really want to defoliate, then you'll want to take off most of the mature fans no sooner than 2 weeks before they finish.
The other way is to selectively defoliate immediately after the initial 12/12 stretch, and again about a week before chop. But that requires planning in early veg and training to put up with the stress, plus a longer veg time to recover. And that's just scratching the surface.
Don't go mad all at once, and if you must, then just take off a few leaves a day at this point, and even then - those leaves need to be looking pretty sorry for them selves for you to do that. It looks good so don't fuck with it!!
So in the short and long of it: No you shouldn't defoliate now. It's too late. You need a plan from the start.

You'll find these mostly at the very bottom of the plant and at the very top.

Only reason i could see to remove healthy leaves is for airflow inside the plant to mitigate mold issues, could probably do the same thing by just moving/training some branches.

#Dont move your plants around for the blessed sake of trichome production.
# Get rid of the confusion and undecidedness.
# Be patient. No create patience.
# Prepare for your next grow with mastery mentality.
# Dont keep pinching samples..lol
# Finish the plant all the way out.
# Get you some curing jars with gaskets and not masons....

Ive tested late defoliation and it doesn't increase yield it destroys it. Early defoliation has some benifits if you dont do it like a chiuaua on crystal meth and just take a little off the bottom and center bottom. Stuff that youve seen when you grow the plant out the first time only produces larf. The next time you run this strain you will be able to trim off the larf before it grows because you removed nothing. Many people say that this will in turn make the upper buds bigger. Ive tested this and ive found it to work.

At 43 days Flower?!?!?! That's not very good advice.
You lollipop 2-3 weeks into flower at the most. he's almost at 5 weeks into flower now since posting that.

we strip all fan leaves day one of flower and day 21. However our canopy is packed very tightly, if you have enough light getting to the entire plant there is no reason to strip. before

defoliating works in our system, we have tried leaving more leaves at various stages and it just doesn't produce uniform bud sites and increased susceptibility to mold and pest. As i stated though, we really pack the table full. If we weren't defoliating we would have to do less plants per light.
