Should I get a magnifier?

Hey guys, when I used to grow I had one of those microscopes with the light at the end so you can look at the trichomes. Unfortunately I lost it, so I was wondering do you guys use one of these or do you just go by the way the plant looks?
Also how much of the trichs should be milky and amber. I know it should be about half milky and half amber but do you guys cut them down a little earlier when its about 75 percent milky and 25 percent amber or the other way around.

The way i do it ,is i take a photo with my phone,and its a old phone i use just for bud shots,its not the new phone i use now the camera is not has good i get it on macro and hold it has close has possible,and take a picture with the flash on,then up load to lap top,then by zooming in with the lap top this gives you brilliant pictures of the thc color wise.Picture with out zooming in,of the pineapple express,just starting to become milky,this what took of early,just because it was calling smoke me through the tent walls,so i took a small amount to sample2016-06-29 21.19.43.jpg 2016-06-29 21.19.23.jpg

Just finished the last bit of the p/e and dam it was very nice,kinda got me thinking i wish i would have run it again,instead of the super lemon haze,but i have sussed the mars 300 led out now,so i know i can get more than i did from the first test grow,but i do like lemon haze so looking forward to smoking that,then its blue dream.

Every single u-k grower should at least have a high cbd low thc strain in the room,because when shit hit's the fan so to speak,it goes in your favor,and gives you brief something to have up his our her sleeve,having a strain that is very low thc,and has no street value,but high medical value,i know a few growers that have played this card ,and its worked really well for them,high cbd strains work fine for me during the day,but i need high thc for night time.But it is something,worth thinking about,

Thats a really good pic buddy. That plant looks like it's going to be killer. I don't know how you can see if the trichomes are milky though. I can't tell at all what the trichs look like. They all look clear to me. I'm probably just gonna get a magnifier because I think spending 25 bucks is worth it.

I want this plant to be perfect so I want half amber and half milky. I always cut my plants down too early when they are half clear and half milky.

That's cool you grew pine express because of the movie. I grew blue cheese the one time and wow that turned out great.
What kind of lights do you use? I was thinking about getting an led light. I use cfl's and it seems like the led's are really popular now. If I get a good led will my plants grow faster than if I use cfl?

you zoom in on your lap top that is just the picture zoom in on lap top you get a good picture of the heads
