Should I worry about these dots on my leaves?

This is my first grow, currently in veg 6 weeks from germination in soil, temps are about 75-80F 50-60% RH during the day, 65-70F 30-40% at night. There is air flow above and below the canopy, no other plants within a 50ft radius, active ventilation during the day and passive ventilation via top exhaust at night. I really can't find anyone with a similar experience.

The only pest problems I've noticed so far were fungus gnats, which have been eradicated. The undersides of the leaves look normal to me. I can't see any bugs, even when disturbing the soil, and I don't see any webbing. Additionally, these spots are only on two of the four plants I have in the grow room, and they're the same strain. The other strain does not have these dots.

This is the best close-up quality I could manage, sorry. Should I be worried?

If this is your first grow you should definitely take clones to practise, it’s a skill all growers need. I always take clones before I flip to keep my genetics. If you know you can hook clones, you don’t have to keep moms around.

I'm actually attempting to clone a few cuttings I got from topping using jiffy pellets! One of them died, I think I didn't press the peat pellet close enough to the stem, or it was too moist. I did want to try air layering for the clones I take before I flip. If that method works out, that's all I'll do from now on due to the plant limitations in my state.

what's the name of your cultivar with the trichs? Looks super interesting. Unless you have seeds, I'd def clone that. Can't wait to see that one when it is flowering.
What else you growing that does not show the trichs so soon?

No worries

Thanks for the replies, that's a huge relief. Doesn't this mean I got some decent genetics? Maybe I should take a few clones, eh
I'd definitely grab a cut or two.

I've found it helps to place the cuts in a cup of water overnight so they're fully hydrated before placing them in the medium. Make sure theyre well secured and place a humidity dome over them (unless using a aerocloner)

Plants look good!

Sounds like it'll be worth waiting the extra few weeks of veg in order to get a few good clones, huh? ^^

I've got 2 Lemon Pound Cake and 2 Chem Cookies, all seeds given to me by a friend who grows on occasion. The pics are the Lemon Pound Cake, but I spotted trichomes on both Chem Cookies during my watering today. I've got my grow journal in my sig if you're interested in keeping up with it!

Thanks so much! I've been putting so much love and care into these plants, and it really feels like it's paying off. Gardening is such a fulfilling hobby.

I don't have an aerocloner, but I'll definitely try leaving my cuttings in water overnight. For other plants, I've always had success with propagating in test tubes filled with water, so I may just try that method with my next cuttings if the jiffy pellets don't work out.

Since I can't find anything about it, are trichomes on fan leaves an indicator that the plant is female?
