Shroom grow setup questions

What's a basic price range for a beginner shroom grow kit? Everything you need but nothing fancy, just something to start learning the skill and to get some personal shrooms?

well if your an absolute beginner then try looking into the PF Tek as they call it. also you might wanna join mycotopia or the shroomery. but a rough price range for a good yield would be under $200 depends if you can find a pressure cooker to borrow, i found mine at a second hand store and it was even brand new for like 35bucks. i would go with a syringe w/ the spores in them. i found using prints to be difficult as a beginner. you will also wanna build a glove box. i wear a tyvek painters suit and surgeons mask latex gloves whole nine yards

You can get growing for very little money. Don't bother with kits, they're way too expensive. The "pf tek" is very simple and cheap. Just brf (brown rice flour) and vermiculite.

Go to mycotopia.net, it has a MASSIVE knowledge base and lots of great people who'll be more than happy to help you out. Get your stuff from the sponsors there and you're pretty much guaranteed excellent quality at very good prices. You can even get pre-sterilized brf bags for cheap so to start with you don't even need a pressure cooker. It's great to find out if you like the hobby without shelling out lots of bucks. About $25 - $30 or so should get you going, including spores.

Do the PF tek BRF and for fruiting chamber do the chronic tek. it is not the best yielding and does add a week or two to the process, but it's maintenance free and can be done on the cheap, dont even have to mist and fan with this setup. I already had a PC and some pint and quart mason jars, so my cost including spores was less than 30 bucks. One syringe doing it this way yielded just over 50gs, enough for me for well over a year if not two years depending on how many opportunities I have. And for what its worth, these mushies are more potent than any street mushies I have ever bought.

There are those who will want you to invest hundreds and do big bulk and tell you that you need a 200 dollar AA PC, etc, but unless you want to deal or have shit loads to give away, it isn't neccessary.

yeah i started with about 100 didnt buy a pc i used steam sterilization and have gotten a 100% success rate. i am even working on my new bulk substrate right now which i also steamed. its probably about 3/4 colonized

do yourself a favor, get a cheap pressure cooker and don't use that PF tech.

You could probably do the whole thing for under a hundred dollars, maybe under 60.
