well you will see preflowers starting when the plant is mature you will know, and of course when you see white hairs growing

A mature plant will show its sex via pre-flowers like Kaleo posted. They are very small and you made need a magnifying glass to see them. Males will generally show sex earlier. If a plant has alternating nodes you can be sure it has pre-flowers somewhere.

hard to tell from the pics. Are they inside or out? I see yellowing at the bottom of the one.
