Silica use

I jus recieved my "RAW" (water soluble) silica today, which is supposed to strengthen the cell walls in my plant and make it more resistant to bugs, PM, and diseases in general. Has anyone ever used a silica supplement and what was the outcome? Also, when should I start applying a diluted ratio to my girls? Thank-you in advance for any an all help!!

I use silica in my outdoors to help with heat stress. But definitely not every feed. It would work indoors too if too hot. My plants have no problems handling a week of 100+F temperatures. Its a good supplement but IMO doesn't do that much for pest controls. It does something just not as much as you would hope for pests or fungus. Resistance does not mean immune. Just like there's a big difference in water resistance versus water proof.

With clones you could start immediately. With seedlings id reccomended after 6 weeks, or when have 3 sets of full size fan leaves.

I use silica starting in veg 1ml per gal slowly working up to 2ml per gal stopping at week 6 in flower, been having issues with adding FF Bembe (molasses) to the mix.. not sure if its locking something out, always leaves floaties in the water. Just my input and something to consider.

I have used silica from day 1 on general principles. I admit I nevsr did the side by side.

Interesting. I use my silica in veg and it raises my solutions pH to high 7s or low 8s. I know molasses is acidic could be an acid/base reaction in your solution.

While researching I found tht too much silica could also cause lockout, but as I mentioned ths will be the first time using ths product

Yea scripted.. I read tht it was very alkaline, but on mine it says ph balanced or something along the lines tht it wouldn't affect ph, and to add to the mix AFTER I add my base nutes, but idk

I'm going outdoor ths year an it gets hot as hell in the summer here so thanks for the input. Would u feed once per week or...

I use Gringo Rasta CalMag not sure if it is ph buffered. I mix Calmag/ Base nutes/ Silica/ Molasses In order. I know for a fact my base nutes are buffered, and I add Silica last, still ends up right at 6.2 ph.

You will never be wrong checking pH before feeding anything. I dont assume. Had a batch of bone meal strong as battery acid. 500mls in 50 gallons water dropped pH from 7.2 to 2.9! Directions said use 60-120 mls per gallon. Glad i checked.

I plant in May and 100 degree weather comes in any time in June. Then when 100 degrees is coming I'll load them full strength every 3 days a week before the first heat wave and during it. They are good for rest of season.

I use distilled water w my nutes not ro. Would u guys still implement the cal-mag regimin..an if so should I cut it out during flower?
