Ok, so I understand that silver (any kind - silver nitrate, colloidal, thiosulfate etc) works by displacing copper at the ethylene binding site that triggers the production of female flowers in cannabis. Without this it makes male flowers. Voila, fem pollen.

Pretty much every source I've researched says to use a foliar treatment. But, I am kind of curious if I could get the same results applying directly to the roots. I am having some trouble finding out if this could work, or would just wind up stressing the crap out of my plants.

Little help? Pls and thanks.

It won't make male flowers but it may be beneficial;

Though looking at later posts on that page somebody said it did make male flowers. Guess you'd have to try and see. I found one page that said a study showed that colloidal silver actually reduced plant growth, so it's not really known what the effect might be on growth. I guess when it does help it's because it kills fungus and other pathogens. If you don't have those problems it may not have any benefit. One person said they use it in their hydro res and it prevents root rot. So anyone with root rot problems might want to give it a try.

This will do NO good for your plant! Bottom line and BOOM DONE!

I'll say this. In what ever media you use. It will be absorbed by the plant - Like smoking heavy metals?
In what ever media you use. It will kill helpful bacteria and fungus that may be present. (Silver is a strong anti bacterial)

Again, good lord!

For once in your life you may actually be making some sense. It looked interesting at first but as I found more information it looked less promising. Now I wouldn't even bother. But yeah, it was a ghost who dug the idea up. Said his name was Casper. Cute lil fella.
