I grew a couple for first time.
I bent them on the stalk (full 90 degrees) early on to slow them. Worked great- they are at 12 weeks old with still a couple weeks (I think) on the #1(the big cola, single-headed) and probably at least 3 - 4 on #2(she lost her head early on but recovered and bushed out).
Started out on 15/9 light/dark, moved to different space at about 4 weeks and put on 18/6. About week 5 they started to show pistils and I did my bending around this time.
At about 8 weeks I moved them from the partial sun-with-added-light-griwhouse, to a greenhouse with full light (six+ hours of direct sun) with a supplemental light on from 3am to 9pm.
Didn’t do any defoliation until a couple weeks ago and went heavy with it on #1, which really needed the airflow and light into it’s cola. Trimmed up the other but not nearly as much, just lightened her up.
Basically trimmed #1 to almost drying point yesterday and switched from veg grow light to a red grow light (single-bulb Feit brand; simply supplemental) that stays close to #1 shining mainly on the cola. Will try leaving the red in during day to allow for more UV absorption from sunlight, which will hopefully trigger more trichome production.
#2 is just going to sit-pretty and maybe get one last defoliation as her calyxes swell.
Not going detail every nutrient and watering, but I have started using Mammoth P in recommended dose, during watering which is every few days, plus molasses.
I am a novice but have had some great photoperiod grows, and find most of the info here from other members quite useful. I’m not saying I did everything or even anything right in this grow, but
In conclusion I would say the seeds I got for Banana Kush Autoflower from Pacific Seeds turned into very hardy plants.
