Single plant and this bulb.

How would a single plant fair under this bulb? Has anyone used this bulb before?

it's a Utilitech 65W (300w equivalent) CFL Soft White. 3900k lumens, 2700k Kelvin.

I can't link the Lowes link to the light bulb to show you but you can find it on the lowes website by searching "Utilitech 65w CFL"

I'm currently using it over seedlings on a timer with two other lower watt CFLs I'm wondering if I should add more of these bulbs or if I should even use them. They seem to work fine so far. I plan to have a total of four plants at once using these bulbs.

That color spectrum is good for using for flower. If u plan on using that bulb get another bulb but 6500k and that should balance out the 2700k and u can use both bulbs together for veg to flower. Some people use a whole mix ranging from 2700k to 6500k for veg and flower amd some use 5500k to 6500k for veg and 2700k to 3500k for flower

OP final sentence is "I plan to have a total of four plants at once using these bulbs." BTW awesome looking plants there.
Ha you're right buddy. My bad. And thank you. Op A 4 pack of those could possibly veg ya good for 4 plants as i used 3 for 3. but definitely add twice more lights and different kelvin temp for flower.

marketing sucks no way in hell a 65 watt anything replaces 300watt of hid or every greenhouse on the planet would use them. C.O.B leds is one of the most efficient plant lighting tech on the market and even then you need 130w at least to get 300w hid. don't get me wrong its a good light for seedlings an early veg, but if you want a harvest you will need to add. the worst mistake I made was getting 1 light then another then another then a bigger light then a bigger light. lol. take my advice decide what your harvest goal is do some research on yield vs light then get what's appropriate for that goal. if your low budget go to your local hydrostore and ask abought layaway. buy once and buy right. also don't look at lumens. 1 mil lumens at 500 nm does dick for the plant (green)

CFL will grow 1 plant just fine ... Haters hate on them but proof is in the pudding.

They are like t5 lamps ( flouro ) which grow great plants too.
A lot of growers either dont use them right or never tried it. Keep them close initially then progess from there. Another tip : the highest output of light comes from the sides of bulb. So a reflector or wing would help direct light. Many growers goof by free hanging bulbs too high or wasting light into open space.

A 300w equivalent bulb puts out the same lumen output as a SIMILAR bulb pulling at 300.
It DOES NOT MEAN it replaces a 300 , it means it outputs a similar level at a much reduced draw.

image.jpg I purchased these for 99¢ or less ..... Seriously.
I also have used ECOSMART ( daytime 5000k ) from home depot and Feint Electric ( 6400k ). There are many sources for bulbs , just work with 150w equiv and higher.

Key is ADDING during grow .... You can start with a single CFL ( 5000k / 6400k )
to initiate seedling growth then as plant grows into early veg and then veg , you can keep adding.
I built a reflective hood that runs 12 ( tri-socket adapters ) with mixed spectrum.

Mixed : 1/2 5000k and 6400k
Flower : ( same as above ) or ALL 2700k warm
Vegging / Seedling / Clones : ALL 5000k Daylight ( more blue in color ).

I STILL grow with CFL ( even though i moved from LED to now Quantums and COBS ).
It has always provided fabulous plants and good smoke. It is how well you surround your plant with light.

Nice plants! What soil did you use if you don't mind me asking!
I transplanted from solo cups to 3 gal pots of fox farm ocean forest soil. Vegged in that soil for a month just used strait 6.5 ph water. Im well into flower now. My girls are 70 days old today

Here's some quick pictures of the seedlings they aren't separated yet I figured just switch them into individual pots once they are a bit bigger. Was hoping for some ideas where to get cheap 5 gallon pots.

New bulbs should be here Friday!
