Size of container question

Can some one tell me roughly what size of container to use to grow a plant? Ive got a massive container at the moment (10 gallon) and its getting me no where; Im figuring its overkill.


What should I use for my next plant?

i believe most people on this board transplant 2-3 times during the life of the plant. Start with a small 3-5 inch plastic pot to start after germination and then move up from there. Are you growing indoor or outdoor. 10 gallons a pretty big container. id used 3-5 gal.

I had no idea you are supposed to transplant a couple of times; this is an indoor under a 450 watt HPS.

1 gal = 1 foot height. usually start with the little jiffy pots for seedlings and you can just place though right into a bigger pot usually 1 gal.... then move it to 3-5 gal depending on which is free from the hydro store.
