so i just recently encountered slime all over my roots and really dont know where to turn. ive been looking around here for answers and ive ran into so many diff suggestions not sure which to try. ive seen a lot of ppl say that a tea brew solved the problem. does anyone have any experience with root slime and a fix? the tea? i was thinking of doing the tea and was curious if i can brew with great white or even if great white can help fix the prob at all. (some ppl say beneficials can get rid of the slime) can anyone help??

Is there also ways to cure it if running a sterile res? I think I had root issues (not really sure but roots were turning brown) so started to add an enzyme product. Roots are white and new growth is happening. It was rather pricey but worth every penny if it works. Im sure the stuff for ponds is the same but cheaper. Keep in mind I'm not suggesting anything as Im a total newb re: root issues. Always had nice roots until this run.

never been failed by aquashield and pondzyme... check out api tap water conditioner if yr using tap too. i have found the chlorine makes the bennies less effective in my setup.
tea works but I have also had it not work so I cant recommend it. too much to fuck up (molasses)
rinse off the roots with tap water in the bathtub or sink or something and use your fingers to remove slime and dead roots, change the res, make sure its 100% lightproof and run bennies from now on as a regular part of your nutes lineup. expect new roots within 3 days and foliar spray if the leafs fade too much, but should be fine.
when I wrote this I assumed yr in dwc so my bad if none of this makes sense.

did an h202 soak for about 10 hrs after rinsing roots with water and cleaning up as much slime as possible. cleaned res and all parts with bleach and h202. refilled res with 1/4 strength nutes and some rhizo. new white roots are coming in daily. brewed the tea as well and @ about 3pm it'll be ready. will change res again and add tea. appreciate the help of those that offered and will update with results.
new shoots are coming in everywhere! i think i may have more than even before i had the problem. hopefully i cont to get new roots coming in an plants back healthy again. this is a great start after not even 24hrs with the tea. just added nutes around 730am today so we'll see how that goes. i will say though, leaves were extremely yellow and faded. could be due to the mix or could be due to the high ph. adjusted ph and will do a foliar feed tonight with h&g magic green

OOOOOPS No one told me not to use organic.. Key is to use the right amounts of everything and pay close attention to your plants. I spend a few hours a day checking temps roots you name it. WHY just cuz i have the time. I will say that my 4 part nectar for the gods along with the probiotics

you have balls of steel running organics in a translucent bucket. I suppose if you have the right kind of biology controlling the algae and stuff like an aquarium it would work. I get slimed any time something organic goes in my res (besides bennies) so I don't even try anymore.

I also use a not so hot plasma light too. The key is to keep that water recirculating not just an air stone. I grew my tangerine haze just like this no problems. Here's the problem with most of the people out there in their nutrients they read the instructions where it says 1 teaspoon per gallon so that's what add. Now what I have always done his break it down into quarters instead of 1 teaspoon per gallon I'll put a quarter teaspoon per gallon and then up the dosage every week once a week to see if the plants can take it but again this is only my second time growing anything in my entire life but the research I've done and just general knowledge everything works out pretty well

By the Way I scrape the sides of my Res 2x a week. That way NO SLIME build up. Key to running organics is to keep the particles moving at all times never give them a chance to latch on to the bucket. MY 55 gal res I use roots organics along side 4 part nectar for the gods. But also have 6 inch airstone on bottom and a large pump inside acting as a fountain pump. That runs one hour before feeding and one hour after so not to get the water warm.. I use no chillers just ice. Big res doesn't need it. it stays 65-69 degrees at all times. 100% organic nutrients used on this plant now.. I tend to thing it works.. Especially the true blooms. LOL I have so many peppers coming out on one branch.. OH yeah it also works great on medicating plants...
