Slow growth not sure why

having an issue with slow growth. looking for possible suspects.

running an aerogarden. have 5 out of 7 seeds germinated. but only 2 inch high. (looking for females and expect to pluck a couple males.)
have 3-t8 2footers and 1-t12 special grow 2footer.
also have one 70whps for flowering.
have aero lights as well and have the hood extended when needed.
all lights run 18/6 at the moment.
res is a little warm but ph is hanging round 5-6
have a 2-4inch inline fans one for exhaust and one for fresh air input.
temps with lights on and exhaust fan running only are 85+. added the second fan for input and temps are around 80

everything is contained in a grow box approximately 3ft wide 2ft deep and 3.5 feet high.

about the only thing i havent added is a diy co2 setup.

anything else i might be missing that i should have.

res is treated with hydro ph up and ph down. ppm is just about 200. no nutes yet.

planted seeds on 3-1-08

Do you have the lights close enough? I would not break out the HPS yet until they have some descent growth. They should do great initially with just the AG lights.. Sounds to me like you you may have some minor heat issues but you have worked them out. Give it a few more days and I bet they will take off.

that should be plenty of light for that sized box. At this stage the AG lights should be sufficient. Just a tip with the heat control - make sure you exhaust from the top and draw in air from the bottom. Heat rises.

yes i am removing my heat from top to bottom so to speak.

i just opened everything up and yes i am running the hps right now but maybe on my next ph check i will turn it off. also i checked my thermometer which is hanging to the left of the hps light at about the same height and it was 78 degrees. before that second fan was added it was getting closer to 87 or more. and that is at the top as i mentioned so it will be cooler lower. pretty sure temp is good.

the lights are mounted on the side and back walls and are actually a little too far considering some of the things i have read here BUT the AG lights are at their lowest setting as i am still using the stand for now but have cut in a new cord so they run on a timer and i can remove the hood from the stand later if they ever grow????!!!!!!

also i have added some mylar on the inside of doors and some on the walls

no need 4 tha hps yet i veg fluro only and tmy hps dont come out till flowering i like to keep cool white 4 veg to get nice short bushy plants theyll stretch wen ya go 12/12 anyway dont now much bout the aerogarden i use a setup like fletch's 6plant 30 min aero cheaper and bigger the ag dont seem to be much kop to me but i may be wrong as i aint used 1

i wouldnt use the hps just yet i only use mine 4 flowering

I am using a HPS, small FL, and small CFL for additional lighting on the sides, Should I take away the hps and add bigger FL's ???

i just shut it off. temps were 78 degrees with it on and the "box" was closed for 3 hours since i last opened it. so temps good and i am gonna try the hps off for now and see what happens.

i know the word is not to use nutes for seeds because they have enuff of what they need for the first week, but mine are now 2-3 inches or so. should i be adding nutes now? i am using well water that has an initial ppm of 40-70.
after adding the h2o2 and adjusting the ph the ppm goes to 200-300.

ideas,comments,suggestions?

how are you growing soil/hydro? if your area is a fair size i'd keep it there but blue light is always better for veg red prodominates the flower phase i use 150w cfls for veg n my 400w hps for flower

once i get one crop under my belt i will devise a more reliable and cheaper setup. since i have the lights i just need to replace the AG so i can use it for clones

search for filthy fletches 30min aero system it cost me less than 50 bucks australian and works a treat
