Slowing down, reducing stretch at end of veg...? Ugh.

Greetings. Trying to decide which things I should try my next cycle.
Currently...
10gal soft pots
H&G nutes
blueberry gum and sensi star strains.
water from bottom into big saucers.
t5 8 bulb lights.
room 76F or so under the lights.
Go from 4x4" pot after cloning right to 10 gal. I had the same results when I transplanted from pot to pot as well.
Due to height and space restrictions, I can't let them get bigger, or enlarge the scrog. Working on a bigger space for late this year or next. :)

I cut clones at week 8 of my flower cycle, for the next cycle after whats currently on deck. I cut from my existing veg, and I don't want to use mothers. So I can't cut any later. I flower into 2x2' wire double decker scrogs. The plants get just a little bigger than I'd like, and the node length sometimes streches right before i put them into the scrog. I'm looking at what I might change to slow the growth near the end of veg, and/or stop the node length from stretching at the end. Maybe it's as simple as going to 15 gallon pots and giving them a bit more room. Drop the room temperature? Keep lights closer to veg plants all the way through veg? (they are generally 8" away, especially when plants are smaller) I feed per house and garden specs and they look real healty and green. I do give them water every other or every 3rd watering once they are in the last 2 or 3 weeks of veg.

All this being said, I am very happy with my results on quality and yield. I just feel if I could either 'slow them down' it would be easier to put them into the scrogs, or if I could keep the node length shorter, I could increase yields.

Thanks for any advice.

A lot of the stretch will be determined by the genetics you're running. You mention T5's in veg, assuming hps in flower? One thing that affects the stretch is the colour (temp in Kelvin) temperature of your lights, more so, the difference in colour between your veg and flowering lights. The greater the difference, the greater the stretch. So one thing you can try is putting in some warmer tubes for the last week or two of veg, that should reduce your stretch when you flip them.
