Small box help (1ft x 1ft x 2ft) CFL

Good afternoon all I've been around these forums a couple years but haven't been online in a while as I've been busy with stuff irl.

I'm in the process of making my box grow, I have a cabinet which has a doorway to the front and overall unit is
1ft x 1ft x 3ft high (2 ft grow space). (looking at just 1 plant)

I have a few Questions which i would be very thankful if I could pick your brains with.

1- Will 4 small CFL's be enough in there with a mix of 3 and 1 for colour?
2- are pc fans for intake and exhaust ok? looking at bigger one for exhaust and smaller for intake.
3- there is quite a bit debate on white or shiny silver to line the walls, what do you recommend?
4- which nutes and soil is best to buy/use for a uk grower? (locally sourced if possible)

This is my plan...
seal the cabinets joins with silicone
line the full cabinet in paper/silver insulation material
large pc fan to the top/rear for exhaust and smaller 1 near bottom/rear for intake,
4 CFL's - 3 being 1 spectrum 1 being the other

Ive probably missed out a few things but would greatly appreciate any help I do receive, this will turn into my grow thread so pics to follow.

yeah man... it won't be really worth the time (sometimes i'm telling that to mystelf - dude, stop wasting time on that small/small box, do something larger).
But you could if you want, and you have need (you have, it seems) - then yes. weed could be grown even in smallest spaces ever! (like first med cab, loudspeaker...)

ive seen boxes alot smaller than ive got so im going to run with it and see what happens. This plant is between me and a friend and will be a massive learning curve for both of us, maybe onto bigger and better at some point but with a baby due in a few weeks im not going to have as much spare time as id like.

Thread update, I have my 4 bulb holders wired in just need to make the correct choice on bulbs.

Box is now lined with silver insulation

How many watts are ur cfls? And lumens? 4 cfls isn't much BUT it will create a LITTLE bud maybe like pop corn. But hey you might get huge nice buds(; who knows until the results are done! I will be watching this

Ok so I bought one bulb from a local hardware store the pics show what it says on box. Im I right thinking 3 of these and 1 6000kelvin will be fine for flower?

And 3 6000kelvin and 1 2700 for veg.

Also a quick sneak peak inside my box still got a few things to sort out.

My list to source and finish is.
1.fans - cut and mount to rear panel
2. Wiring up the fans- can I wire both to 1 plug? If so any1 got info on this.
3. Which seed distributer is best for uk.
4. Bulbs- 4 cfls looking at using 3x 23w-100w 2700 k and 1x 23w-100w 6000k for flower and 3x 23w-100w 6000k and 1x 23w-100w 2700k for veg,
Iv read I need 4000+ lumens per sq ft that being only 2ft grow space would be 8000+ lumens minimum

and 45w per sq ft so thats 90w minimum.
^ is this total the actual watt of the bulb or the higher?

Are these calculations correct.

Thanks again for your reply, I dont know if I should put in a scrog screen or tie the bitch down what do you think about the bulb wattage and lumen formulas do they sound correct.

Also if my minimum wattage is 90w is this the lower number or higher number on the box .

Some people say go wattage by plant or go by watt get per squar foot. I agree in the 100 watts per plant. Ona. Strict circumstances.. I use 305 watts for my one plant (; just keep ur cfls close to the plant about an inch - two inchs from plant. Then if u enjoy growing but a bigger tent which a 36x36x62 or 36x36x76grow tent.. And a 400-1000watt hps(; then the other musculature things that are cheap

Sorry to keep hitting you with questions my friend but it looks like its just you and me around here.

So the 23w or the 103w on the bulb box. I take it I add the smaller number to add up bulb wattage?

They will be kept close to her

Yes yes , the 23=103 watts. Meaning it used to be 103 watts until they improved that CFL bulb to 23 watts new (;

I just bought a temp and humidity meter that should be here in couple of days.

Which ph tester would you recommend. Do I need an actual probe to test the soil or just the tabs to test the water.

Do you know a uk brand for medium?.
Is miracle grow stuff any good.

Time to make another j my friend. What you smoking? I got some nice silver haze .

I am kind of new I have done 4 grows without any advanced stuff. But this grow I am using more and more. Erm I've never had. Problem with pH.. The water I use here from my faucet and the fox farm soil I'm using has never given me problems! Now people will arise to use faucet, well water, rain water , purified water, RO water.. Just experiment.. Now if u do hydroponics instead of soil growing yes do get a pH tester and you'll HAVE to have nutrients which nutrients sometimes change the pH in the water. Anyways but for soil don't use miracle grow find a potting store for gardening, not walmart lowes etc. Look for a gardening store that only does gardening like a plant store rtc they should have fox farm ocean forest soil. Not to pricey and has the good nutrients. Damn I'm going on and on, just ask any questions u have man!

I am smoking just reggae from around my area. This shit sucks lmao. I am growing a northern lights autoflower nirvana. Never done autoflower and it's growing very quick as stated lol. Nice I was gonna buy some silver haze to grow. How is the smoke??

Aww its my favourite ! Beautiful smell and lovely sweet taste. Was thinkin of buying some silver haze seeds to try 1 in my cab.

theres a garden centre close by ill pop in for my soil.

As im not going to veg for very long I may get 2 2700 k and 2 6000 k bulbs.

Do you think I will see advantages from putting a scrog screen in, im going to.

Just make sure you get an exhaust fan that can push some air because even those cfl's are gonna get in hot in that small of a place.

Quick view up into my light mounting point. All 4 bulbs will be placed in the top drawer part of the cab side by side like that one pictured,

My baby will be getting raised up to the light to prevent stretching.

That's a grow I had just finished a couple of weeks ago. The plant was 16" tall at harvest.
