Ive been very recently, you cant get cubensis shrooms and proper magic mushrooms in dam really anymore (legit) anyway... They have truffles which are pretty much the same shit - however a bit pricey. I tripped on them, quite nice... I prefer just sticking to cannabis when im out there though.
Peace

If anyone is still reading this...
Psychadelic mushrooms were banned there in 2008 but not the actives! As long as it isnt shaped like a shroom its legal still. No shops have closed, they just got clever. What you can still buy are sclerotia, truffles from a few pcilocybe species that form edible sclerotia (not bark). They are about 2/3 the potency of the actual fruit bodies because they hold less water. The strains available are Psilocibe Tampanenesis(fuckin philosopher stones!), a rare but popular shroom variety, Mexicana sclerotia- yes the same as the shrooms, Gallindolli (I think that's how you spell it) and a new made up trade name species 'pajateros'. Don't know which mush species/strain it is from but a winner in my books after 2 packs (if its not strong enough just eat more). So that is where it stands right now but yes I happen to know a few lucky ppl will find other things too i.e. actual shrooms, pills whatever through particular shop owners but if you rock up and just hit them up you have no chance. These dudes have legit businesses to worry about.
Oh and yes you can buy peyote buttons, Big ass peyote mommas, peruvian torch, live salvia as well as dried and concentrate, HBWR, Ephedra and all the spore prints and growkits required for mushies!
Peace!

Truffles are very popular in Amsterdam. You'll have to eat more to produce a desirable outcome, but work nonetheless.
Have you tried truffles in amsterdam? Coz I luuurve shrooms, can take a lot and one of their 15g packets (fresh) was enough to produce a pretty good trip. Two pack was better but everyone over there thought that was mental. They are easier to eat than fresh mushies too, kind of like trail mix.
If you don't get them fresh though they tend to be weaker...
Anyway, as soon as I get some tampanensis or atlantis spore I will be growing them as you pretty mush innoculate the jars and leave them for two months, then harvest the truffles, case the rest and fruit! Awesome.

A Mushroom Connoisseur type of man! :D

Personally, I have not put the taste of truffles to my palette. Knew a fellow who had various truffle species but never got around to trying them. The Fresher the Mushroom the greater the punch. ;)

As far as non-psychedelic truffles go which are used in high retail restaurants. Truffles in Europe go for one fine penny. It's a very prosperous business. Mob's have even been linked to stealing Truffle crops.

Well I don't like trail mix, but I stuffed them into some space cake I got from Soma's kitchen and they went down alright. My lady quite liked the taste but she only had a nibble, she doesn't like "drugs", but she will drink alcohol (which incedently I don't). She is also taking SSRIs I think, which can cause problems with shrooms, seratonin syndrome? I think.

Yep. SSRI's in combination with serotonin inducing drugs can trigger a lethal dose of Serotonin to your body. SSRI's work in some accordance to how tryptamine/ phenethylamine drugs work. It's best she avoids these at all cost. Or stop taking the SSRI medication before partaking in a holy sacrament. Truffles are essential substrate or root of a mushroom. I love alcohol in moderation. Kava Kava is becoming my new elixir of choice. ;)

Still waiting for Kava to find me, it will happen. Isn't it funny how it can be way harder to obtain the natural things than it is to get a pile of dirty chem?
Yeah I used to drink recreationally but I find it too taxing/toxic on the body in general for not much spiritual or long term reward, although I always have fun when drinking. It is also a migraine trigger for me so that knowledge made it pretty easy to put aside, although on special occassions, when I deem it is worth the punishment I will indulge!

Hiding in a cupboard, it says it next to location:
Haha thanks it's been a pleasure to meet you too!
Are we talking about the same thing here re Kava? May seem like a silly question but what I am referring to is traditional amongst Pacific Islanders, I think it is a root that is ground up and brewed, the men all drink it in Kava Huts and then go home and get yelled at by their large wives. I'm in OZ and I think it is actually legal to bring back here (shock, Australia is the only country to ban salvia that I know of) and I am surrounded by PI grocers and Islanders themselves and have never been able to get it :(
