Smell reaching outside. Mini split or dehumidify?

so I'm noticing a rather familiar smell outside where my mini split is. The drain line for the mini split is used with the drain line for the dehumidifier. I've always been told mini splits can't leak smelly air outside and I thought the same with dehumidifiers.

Can people confirm. I'm getting paronoid here and smell is a big no no. My house doesn't smell at all and it's only in the area of the mini split and drain line

I'm surprised no one knows. Does anyone have suggestions on plants or flowers that help keep the smell covered?

If you don't have negative pressure in your room, you'll get some smell seepage from any space that it can diffuse through. I would imagine that if you can smell it, it's probably a real issue.

But, there are some weeds and bushes that smell like dank buds sometimes, so maybe make sure there isn't anything growing around that smells sort of like weed, but isn't. You could just plant those bushes and then blame the smell on them if anyone says anything, haha. I forget what they're called, so I guess this isn't much help, but in the warm summer, at night, they smell pretty strongly and very similar to flowering marijuana. I'm sure google or someone might know....

Yeah it didn't smell nearly as bad today. The water from the ac/dumidifer drips behind the unit and somewhat builds up and mixes with some leaves. I cleaned that area up so i'm not sure if that was the smell. Either way i'm making a trip to the nursery this weekend and buying a ton of smell good flowers and plants

Just as an update for anybody searching the interwebs. The smell was from the dehumidifier. Unhooked the drain line and allowed it to drain into the bucket and the smell went away.
