Smelling your branches =)

So, not to sound like an idiot, but while trimming some leaves today I noticed a very pleasant smell from our 7 week old veg plants. One of the plants has a very distinct skunky dank smell when you trim a leaf and squeeze some goo out, it is just heavenly... Some of the plants just smell like plant, and one smells like cucumber melon?

Anywaayy..... I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to correlate this to a final product of some sort. Do you think this could be some sort indication to thc or smell/taste of future bud?

All opinions/experience please jump in I kinda feel half retarded asking this.

The final product will change so much from now til the end, it will have a different taste than you think. But plants that usually reek bad, normally turn out pretty damn good, but it's not a 100% indicator.

My 3 mystery seeds seem to all have a different smell to em too.. However i was told that it doesnt matter and that all plants have a skunky smell that gets confused by people as danky smell... I guess we jus wait n see. Id say it is some type of indicator tho

I'd cast a vote for 'doesn't matter'. It's not uncommon at all for the stinkiest plant in veg to be surpassed in stink by other plants in flower. The odor can change significantly as well between veg and flower.

Thanks guys, next trimmings ill try to catalog the smell of each plant and follow it up through till harvest... one more reason to be around the babies

Yeah for sure, you can pick up what the final product is kinda gonna be like. I noticed that while using MG tomato fert. for veg that the plants actually smell like tomato plants do a little bit lol. Maybe that smell you get off them is like a combination of the actual genetics + whatever they are chowing down on. =)

I love to brush the leaves and stems and get that light fresh stanky danky smell on my hands.

Well thats two people for it smells the same but i know what I smelled :)

So next experiment... Adding orange or lemon extract to watering, waiting a bit, then trimmming a leaf off mmmmmmmmmmmm :o
