Smoking hops, to get drunk?

I've read a little bit about smoking hops.. its supposed to work kinda like drinking a beer i guess, has anyone done this and been "drunk"? I also heard its been attempted many times to draft it into a marijuana plant since they are from the same family. Just wondering if you you mix the too, MJ and hops to get something more outta your high, any experiences? thanks
