SMS Controlled room

Hi all,

I have since received a sample unit of which has a movement and heat sensor..with this unit if someone triggers it it sends 1 - 9 mms (picture messages) to up to 8 mobile phones..you can delay how quickly or slowly it takes the series of pictures in milli seconds or seconds. You can also text it and get it to send individual pictures to you. Also at any point you can ring the unit and hear exactly what is going on within the area/room. Ive got it working on a Vodafone pay as you go sim card and im controlling it by a £10.00 phone and sim paid for over the counter in cash.

Now I have the above sorted (can see into room) I believe I can create a fully automated flowering room thats controlled by a seperate SMS controller with several inputs and outputs and am planning on building the following functions..

1) a seperate door contactor so that when the door is opened it sends a SMS alarm (this will act as a back up against the above seperate picture message alarm

2) temperature sensor

3) humidity sensor

4) various water level sensors

5) 2 x controllable time clocks for 18/24 and 12/24 (a couple of weeks at 18/24 then switch to 12/12)..using dual lamps..or two seperate sets of lights (metal halide and sodium)

Now to make it fully automated I would need to be able to feed them remotely and am a bit stuck here..ive figured using "PH perfect" nutrients I could have 4 x vessels (part A and B grow and part A and B bloom) and using some kind of solenoid system that lets a set amount of nutrients through in ml's I could have a permanent water supply present going into a water tank, fill it up, release the nutrients, have some form of mixing device and then pump it into the nutrient reservoirs.

I have seen the computer controlled systems on the net of which are disgustingly expensive and require an internet connection but am yet to find a system that totally controllable by mobile phone.

The climate, lights, and feeding side of things is pretty much automated already using timers and sms twin fan controllers.

I believe there is a way of setting up a room like this and hardly having to visit it..would have to prune and check for bugs etc

Any feedback on the above greatly apreciated especially any ideas on how to remotely feed them using solenoids or whatever

Thanks

RE: Internet connection.... why not consider using one of those cloud dongle pay as you go thingies. Used with a cheapo PC or laptop and webcam . you could also monitor the grow area online..... i dunno, its a thought?

I am interested in this as well. Have you seen or used herb iq? Its amazing but I don't have it all dialed in yet,
You can use sensors for that I think, Does anybody use computer controlled atmospheric controls.
Please help describe what to get and what to do.

A friend of mine used a laptop and a dongle once, put a webcam on it and had it uploading to a server..the trouble is it lost its connection every day or two and im not sure if it was anonymous i.e I think he had to register the dongle etc rather than having it pre-payed over the counter paid for with cash.

With the pay as you go sims you can walk into a store, buy them over the counter then change the sims every few weeks when you attend to check for bugs, prune etc

Doing it via SMS with pre set commands would be a lot easier than using a computer also I believe as there wouldnt really a huge amount to it i.e they would be fed via the conventional pump/timer method and you would use automatic stand alone temp/humidity fan controllers and of course light timers

Im only experimenting with the sms controller at the moment but if I cant find a way of auto feeding as of my original post I cant see how this could fail..
