so ive been thinking about LEDS

So I've been thinking about LED lighting and I don't understand why everyone is spending $300+ on 12" by 10" lights when you can get this http://trinorthlighting.com/Store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=166&products_id=1450
for $150 and it will do a whole room plus it has motion and dimming controls built in its even programable for sound response

LED grows make me LOL

If you got that light you would be wasting all that energy that goes into the green LEDs. The expensive lights only use the bulbs that can produce the right spectrum of light for your plants. The quality of the components makes the biggest difference. You could get a cheap one on ebay, but that's just some home made crap with Radio Shack parts most likely. The real deal uses LEDs that cost upwards of $10 each.. and that's just one LED, no wiring, no case.. nothing. I would love to get my hands on one of these puppies.
